Olympian gymnast Trinity Thomas will undoubtedly go down as one of the most successful NCAA gymnasts in history. She had a stellar 2023 season and has lately been honored with numerous awards that recognize her achievements in athletics and beyond. Florida Gators’ standout Thomas is one among those chosen as a recipient of the NCAA Today’s Top 10 Award. Although, one cannot say this comes as a shocker!

A three-time national champion, there is no force stopping Thomas from reaching a zenith in artistic gymnastics. Interestingly, she is currently pursuing yet another master’s degree in Florida, and she will be honored at the NCAA Convention this January.

What does this award mean for the young gymnast?

The official Instagram handle of Florida Gators Gymnastics @gatorsgym celebrated Trinity Thomas’s achievement with a post. The caption reads, “ Another 𝟏𝟎 for 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧 💫.” Tagging Thomas through her IG handle, @gymtrin, the post mentioned that she is one of the “@ncaa Top 10 Award winners!”

Selected by the NCAA Honors Committee, Trinity is one among the ten former student-athletes that will be receiving this award. The award honors former student-athletes who have contributed exceptionally in athletics and academics, bringing pride to their respective communities and campuses. All of these student-athletes had culminated their athletics eligibility in the 2022-23 academic year. The awarding ceremony will reportedly take place on January 10 at the NCAA Convention Welcome and Awards Presentation in Phoenix, Arizona.

Trinity certainly seems overwhelmed with the nomination, and remarked, “I am truly honored to be among this year’s NCAA Today’s Top 10. It is humbling to be mentioned among this class as they all are amazing people.” Remembering the past 5 years with nothing but gratitude, she stated, “Thank you Gator Nation for your support during these amazing five years and the NCAA for this honor.”

Leading all the other conferences, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has steered ahead with four representatives who will be receiving NCAA Today’s Top 10. Besides Trinity Thomas of Florida gymnastics, the list of honorees also includes Ashley Rogers (Tennessee softball), Callie Dickinson (Georgia swimming & diving), and Kobe Brown (Missouri men’s basketball). SEC took to their IG handle to celebrate it with the caption, “It Just Means Four.”

All of them will be honored for their exceptional sporting and community spirit as student athletes. Besides excelling in their respective sports, they have participated in various initiatives to serve their respective communities.
