As the off-season kicked in, New York Yankees have been aggressively eyeing top agents like Carlos Correa and Corey Seager. However, as for Corey’s former team, Los Angeles Dodgers, they seem to be interested in only getting their star shortstop back.

Corey has spent all his MLB career with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2015-2021). He has finally entered the free agency for the 2022 season and is on the radar of top teams for their shortstop positions. However, while there are other top free agents like Carlos Correa, the Dodgers are adamant about signing Corey back.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman revealed that the Dodgers are determined to either have Corey or Trea Turner on their shortstop position for the 2022 season. Jon tweeted, “Dodgers are trying to bring back Corey Seager but don’t appear seriously interested in the other big free agent shortstops. So for them it’ll either be Seager or Trea Turner at SS next season.”

It is indeed a tough off-season for the Dodgers as 11 of their players have entered free agency. Now, with the New York Yankees leaving no stone unturned in signing the best in business, the Dodgers will have to place quite the offer on the table, to keep Corey to themselves.
Corey rejected the qualifying offer by the Dodgers
The LA Dodgers had offered an $18.4 million qualifying offer to Corey earlier. But Corey rejected the offer, valuing himself much higher after his incredible outings in recent times. Notably, this is the first time Corey has entered the free agency, and he would surely try to fetch a huge deal for himself.
