Joe Rogan has built a reputation as the self-proclaimed expert on nearly everything, adopting the “jack of all trades, master of none” persona. This eclectic approach has made him a household name globally, but it has also put him at odds with medical professionals. A notable example is the backlash from 2021, when the podcaster, during one of his podcasts, told his young audience, “If you’re like 21 years old, and you say to me, should I get vaccinated? I’ll go, no.”

While his comments sparked outrage, particularly among doctors and scientists, Joe Rogan clarified that he was not against vaccines for older individuals. His advice to younger people, however, led to widespread criticism. Despite the controversy, Rogan’s podcast has hosted several doctors, biologists, and scientists, some of whom have called him a “menace to society.” Nevertheless, the podcaster continues to challenge certain doctors, especially those he believes are driven by “ego.

In a recent episode (#2242) of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan shared his thoughts on medical advice, particularly concerning stem cell therapy. Speaking with Bert Sorin, the president of Sorinex, a well-known exercise equipment company, the podcaster revealed how he disregarded his doctor’s traditional recommendation against stem cell treatment. He also shared a story from New York Jets star Aaron Rodgers, who helped him see the value of going against conventional medical advice.

The podcaster recalled, “Aaron Rodgers was explaining this to me—that his doctors were telling him not to do stem cells after he got his Achilles fixed. He’s like, ‘What are you talking about? Yeah, like shut the f*** up.’ And so, of course, he did stem cells, and, of course, he went two ways too well, and, of course, he was back three months earlier than they thought he could ever be.”

You may be curious about stem cell therapy. It’s an advanced medical treatment that uses the patient’s own stem cells to heal and regenerate tissue, based on the principle of “divide and regenerate.” While Rogan is a strong advocate for stem cell therapy, despite not having personally tried it, he found an alternative solution in TRT (testosterone replacement therapy). Having once battled chronic pain and discomfort, Rogan turned to TRT and tested the procedure himself. This is one of the reasons he credits TRT for helping him maintain his impressive physique at 57 years old.

Expert certifies Joe Rogan’s TRT timeline

Joe Rogan spent much of his peak years training alongside the world’s top martial artists, a lifestyle that shaped his impressive physique, resembling that of many MMA fighters. His dedication to a strict diet and disciplined routine has been integral to his success. However, even the most disciplined individuals cannot escape the effects of aging. The podcaster, like many others, has embraced testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to address age-related challenges such as bone density loss and maintaining muscle mass.

While some critics, particularly those who question Rogan’s TRT use, view it as a disadvantage, Dr. Mike Israetel, a respected exercise scientist and YouTuber, offers a different perspective. This summer, Dr. Israetel shared his thoughts on Joe Rogan’s decision to use TRT, explaining, “Many people experience what’s informally called ‘andropause’ when their natural testosterone production decreases in their late 30s or early 40s, sometimes extending into the mid-40s. So, Joe’s decision to start TRT at this stage is actually quite sensible. This timing aligns perfectly with Rogan’s age, allowing him to maintain his health and vitality as he continues to age.”

What are your thoughts on Joe Rogan’s decision to use TRT? While the doctor’s opinion suggests it’s a sensible choice, do you think there’s a risk of doctors potentially guiding their patients in the wrong direction, as seen in Aaron Rodgers’ case? After all, every individual’s situation is unique, and doctors are supposed to act in the best interest of their patients. This also holds true in Rodgers’ case with his orthopedic doctor.
