Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes’ walkout song

‘The Great’ has always shown his loyalty to one song. And that’s ‘Down Under’ by Men at Work. Yes indeed, this 1981 pop rock has remained a constant for Volkanovski ever since his first landed in the UFC in 2016. Although, the former feahterweight champion has witnessed three losses in his last four bouts, this song was probably his lucky tune, as the Australian has already won 13 fights in his UFC career.

On the other hand, Lopes likes to use different songs for different occasions. Back when he fought Brian Ortega at UFC 306, the Brazilian entered The Sphere with ‘La Chona’ by Tucanes de Tijuana blaring out of the speakers. How can we forget the last moment swap of opponents for Lopes back at UFC 303? ‘T-City’ was shivering with a high fever, and Dan Ige had come forth to save the day in just 2 hours’ notice. For the fight, the #3 featherweight contender walked into the arena to the tunes of ‘Devastated’ by Joey Bada$$. Before that, for his fight against Pat Sabatini, Lopes chose ‘Por Mi Mexico’ by Lefty SM, Santa Fe Klan, Dharius, C-Kan, MC Davo, and Neto Pena. This time around, we can expect him to come up with a new song, possibly highlighting his Mexican and Brazilian links.

But what about the co-main eventers for UFC 314? Let’s take a look at the walkout songs for Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett

What’s your perspective on:

Does Volkanovski's 'Down Under' still give him the edge, or is it time for a change?

Have an interesting take?

What is Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett’s walkout song?

The former 3-time Bellator lightweight champion seems to have found the perfect song to walk out to. And that fits perfectly well with the #7 lightweight contender’s moniker, ‘Iron’. Back in UFC 309, when he fought Charles Oliveira, Chandler walked out to ‘Iron’ by NF. But for now, it’s reported that he’s going to choose ‘Reason’ by NF as his walkout song for UFC 314. Well, this is a song that’s yet to be released.

Meanwhile, ‘The Baddy’ has stayed loyal to the groovy energy of ‘Lethal Industry’ by Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, and ‘Heads Will Roll’ by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. As if confused between the two, the British mixed martial artist has been using a mashup blend of the two songs as his walkout music for quite some time now. Hence, we can expect the same musical notes at UFC 314. Now, let’s shift our focus to the rest of the main card contestants.

Walkout music of Bryce Mitchell, Jean Silva, Yair Rodriguez, and others

Jean Silva has previously walked out to ‘Peace’ by Dascy, and ‘Jesus Is The King’ by Kanye West. This time, we can assume that he’d stick to West’s choir composition. Bryce Mitchell, on the other hand, chose to walk out to the notes of ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ by Rednex at UFC 310. And we can expect the same at UFC 314.

Yair Rodriguez will likely go along ‘El Corrido De Chihuahua’ by Los Rieleros del Norte. The same notes that he walked out to when he fought Ortega. And Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire will most likely continue his habit of walking out to Hino Nacional Brasileiro, the Brazilian national anthem, like he has done during his time in Bellator FC. Dominick Reyes will likely walk out to ‘Grinding All My Life’ by Nipsey Hussle Victory Lap, while his opponent, Nikita Krylov, will probably choose ‘Aprel’ by Kino.
