Dana White has often taken heat from fighters over his hard-nosed business tactics—but hey, he’s running an empire. In one comical case, former welterweight champ Tyron Woodley threw public shade at the UFC boss, and Dana didn’t even notice. How? Woodley dropped a rap track with Wiz Khalifa titled “I’ll Beat Yo A–,” where he sneakily fired lyrical shots at the UFC CEO. Years later, the ex-champ tried to clear the air—but let’s be real, that apology might’ve come a little too late.
Between 2016 and 2018, Tyron Woodley dominated the welterweight division with his performances. As the reigning welterweight champion, ‘The Chosen One’ successfully defended his title against Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia, and Darren Till. ‘The Chosen One’ was ruling the welterweight division, however, Dana White never liked his reign.
After his decision victory against Maia at UFC 214, Dana White made a critical statement. The UFC CEO emphasized that Woodley failed in finishing the fight. ‘The Chosen One’ was frustrated about such comments, and guess what he did? The fighter took a sly dig at his boss in his debut rap single, “I’ll Beat Yo A–” which was released shortly after his victory against Darren Till.

The UFC CEO didn’t know that it was targeted at him—heck, even the fans didn’t know. Years after the album’s release, Woodley stated on The Verse podcast that the entire project was aimed at Dana White. “That’s why I made that song I’ll Beat Yo A–,” Woodley said on the Verse Us podcast.. “If you listen to the lyrics it was for Dana White. I couldn’t say I wanted to beat Dana White’s a–, but I wanted to bad because he made me look stupid.”
Tyron Woodley has faced a lot of criticism for his remarks about Dana White. From claiming the UFC CEO didn’t promote him enough to accusing him of showing a lack of respect, Woodley has made his animosity clear. However, was the diss the right move? Many fans believe it was something the former champion shouldn’t have done.
Fans rip apart Tyron Woodley for his Dana White confession
To begin with, it was Tyron Woodley himself who had his moment of self-reflection in the comments. He wrote, “aw hell i talk too much.” In addition to him, former UFC star Alan Jouban chimed in to share a laughing emoji to Woodley’s confession.

The Dana White vs. Tyron Woodley fiasco was one of the most visible fighter-promoter conflicts in recent memory. During Woodley’s prime years, the UFC CEO called him out for being a boring fighter and failing to pull PPV numbers. In return, Woodley accused White of disrespect and a lack of support. Woodley claimed racial bias played a role, while White blamed fan disinterest on Woodley’s performances.
As if all this was not enough, a fan reminded the former welterweight champion about his fate against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, “Didn’t u get ko’d by Jake Paul ?” Tyron Woodley suffered a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Jake Paul during their highly anticipated rematch on December 18, 2021, at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. In the sixth round, Paul unleashed a thunderous right hand that landed clean, sending Woodley crashing face-first to the canvas in a dramatic finish. This invited a lot of flak for the ex-UFC champ since the fight had a heated buildup, and he was the more decorated combat sports star.
Another fan pointed out the ultimate irony of the situation: “He never won a fight after that song.” This statement stands true as after the song was released, Woodley lost four back-to-back battles against Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington, and Vicente Luque. The fighter was finally cut by the UFC back in 2021.

Last but not least, a social media user added, “GFL implodes he decides to come out for no reason and trash Dana, this dude has the worst career decisions in history.” What happened with GFL, you may ask? Well, according to Ariel Helwani, “GFL has canceled its first two events, scheduled for May 24 and 25 in Los Angeles, per multiple sources and confirmed by CSAC executive director Andy Foster. There are serious doubts about the future of the promotion. Reached out to founder Darren Owen but no reply at this time.” Why is this bad news for Woodley? Because he was the number one overall pick at the GFL draft back in January, chosen to represent the Dubai team.
