The animosity between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira is one of the greatest rivalries in the history of MMA. Before locking horns in the promotion at UFC 281, the two had faced each other twice in kickboxing matches. Making their bout at UFC 287 their fourth fight. The two were unable to keep their rivalry just inside the octagon. In their first bout at UFC, ‘The Last Stylebender’ lost the match against ‘Poatan’ via TKO two minutes and one second into the fifth round. However, it seems that for their upcoming bout, the aim of the Brazilian fighter is to weaken his opponent psychologically before destroying him physically inside the octagon.

The two have often brought their rivalry to the public’s attention. They were unable to resist throwing jabs at each other in any interview they attended. Recently, it’s been Pereira who is leading the trolling game. Poatan made fun of Adesanya’s anime collection while watching Adesanya’s reaction video to UFC 286. Followed by this, the Brazilian fighter threw a jibe at Adesanya’s uncanny similarity with the character Zula from the movie “Conan the Destroyer,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. At the moment, Pereira is wearing a Pikachu jacket to provoke his opponent’s anime obsession.

Adesanya is an anime lover who has made sure that he shows his love for anime through his tattoos and collection. Now, UFC has posted a photo of Pereira wearing a Pikachu jacket. Along with the image they posted, “King of the Kanto region! Who’s @AlexPereiraUFC picking as his starter? #UFC287.” The UFC’s tweet was retweeted by Spinnin Backfist. They added, “how’d he get mad at Izzy’s room and then wear this.” However, according to fans, this was another way Pereira trolled Adesanya after coming across the Pikachu toy in Adesanya’s room during the UFC 286 reaction video.
