Jon Jones likes the good life. After all, the GOAT contender is known for partying hard in the weeks leading up to his fight and likes to live his life to the fullest. Which is what often gets him in trouble. But recently, the ‘undisputed’ heavyweight champion nearly got into the worst trouble of his life, as he almost had a brush with death.

The New Mexico resident, of course, is coming off of a fantastic win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last month. Jones is currently in talks with the UFC to fight interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall in what Dana White has predicted will be the biggest fight in the history of the UFC.

But, all of those plans nearly came to naught as the UFC superstar got into a very hairy situation while driving a $5 million Bugatti. Jones met YouTuber ‘Alex G Was Here’ at the ‘Dirty Boxing 1’ event last month, after which the duo decided to go on a joyride. Jones, however, wasn’t used to handling a car as powerful as the YouTuber’s Bugatti, which almost led to the car spinning out. And could have led to a major accident since they were driving on the streets of Miami.

For the few moments when the car started shaking, Jones’ fear was apparent and palpable, and he even admitted to Alex: “that s**t was a little scary bro, I ain’t gonna lie.” Thankfully, nothing more serious happened, except perhaps Dana White almost getting a heart attack. While the UFC CEO will not be happy with ‘Bones’ almost getting into a serious accident, the fans were far more amused.

Jon Jones, of course, has been very reluctant to fight the young, hungry, and incredibly talented Tom Aspinall. Many think this is because the undisputed champ is afraid of taking a loss and is trying to duck the interim champ. It was therefore not surprising to see fans joke that Jones nearly spun out in the Bugatti trying to avoid Aspinall: “Seen Tom and almost lost control tryna avoid him”

Another fan felt that Jones was overspeeding (although we don’t know that for sure) and was worried the GOAT contender would get in trouble with the law for his shenanigans before he gets to fight Aspinall in what will probably be Jones last ever fight: “Bro please don’t go to jail before your last fight”

Jones looked remarkably shaken right after the incident, which didn’t escape the fans’ keen eyes. This is why one fan couldn’t help but observe that “Bro had ptsd” after nearly losing control of the Bugatti.

Another fan was concerned that Jones would get a Bugatti or similarly powerful supercar of his own, and wanted the GOAT contender to hold off on that purchase at least until after the much-awaited Aspinall fight: “Ye bro don’t let him have one of them we need to see the aspinal fight”

Of course, the best place to try out a car, especially one as powerful as a Bugatti would be at the track, where Jones could accelerate to his heart’s content. This is why one fan had this sensible advice for Jones and the YouTuber: “Why didn’t they take it round a racetrack?
