Name one big UFC name that is yet to come on The Joe Rogan Experience – for many, the answer might be Conor McGregor. JRE is the biggest podcast in the world, hands down. It has hosted fighters in the JRE MMA Show episodes with the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Max Holloway, and Israel Adesanya making appearances. Yet, Rogan is yet to host ‘the’ Conor McGregor. We’re here to give you a few reasons why it should stay that way.
Just recently, Conor McGregor posted a tweet, “What’s up @joerogan my man I messaged you! Are you looking for a guest on the podcast, I have a great one for you!” ‘The Notorious’s message was a rather cryptic one because he didn’t mention who it was, but if he’s planning to be the guest in question, it may be a bad idea. That’s because we have a few reasons why McGregor should steer clear of making any guest appearances in Rogan’s multi-million-dollar podcast.

Conor McGregor could be subject to uncomfortable questions
Conor McGregor’s life has been a pretty eventful one since he became the star that he’s today. But there were a lot of questionable and controversial things that he was a part of. As far as fans know about Joe Rogan and his podcasting gig, he doesn’t hold back from asking hard-hitting questions, and if he uses that approach while interviewing McGregor, things could get a little uncomfortable.

Moreover, Joe Rogan and Conor McGregor have clashed in the past due to the difference in their opinions about certain topics, and as erratic as ‘The Notorious’ tends to appear, things could escalate in no time. Hence, it won’t be wise for the Irishman or the JRE host if they wish to avoid garnering any kind of negative publicity. Now, let’s get down to the second reason why McGregor should avoid going to JRE.
Drug testing and ped allegations
Conor McGregor’s lifestyle is always there for the world to see, and his over-the-top nature has often made fans and prominent MMA figures question whether he’s abusing substances. Even Joe Rogan has brought up that topic during many conversations on his podcast. The 57-year-old even insinuated that McGregor may have used performance-enhancing drugs and steroids in 2022 when the Irishman sported a bulky physique.

Conor McGregor did not hold back there, and he responded to Joe Rogan in a pretty defiant manner. “Joe looks like his piss melts his knickers. In the company that long and never took a fight hahaha [UFC] oh tae kwon do competition, call the cops hahahahaah,” McGregor stated on social media. Could that come back to haunt the conversation if the Irishman finds his way into a JRE episode? There is a probable chance of that happening. But then, again, there’s one more important reason why this collaboration could end up being a wrong decision.
Lack of Conor McGregor’s relevance and the potential for negative media coverage
Joe Rogan’s $250 million podcast has always been under the media’s scrutiny. From seemingly affecting elections to raising certain sensitive issues, the Joe Rogan Experience has always been at the forefront of the media. Hence, the 57-year-old has a lot to live up to given that he averages more than ten million viewers in every episode. So could inviting Conor McGregor help him maintain that streak? Why not? He’s the biggest MMA star, after all. However, it seems like, in the fans’ eyes, he’s just not relevant in the present scenario due to his current state of affairs.

McGregor hasn’t been able to find his way back inside the Octagon for almost four years now, and the fan interest is diminishing day by day. Furthermore, his outside-the-Octagon antics are also one reason why most people believe Joe Rogan should avoid bringing McGregor to his show so that he can avoid further public scrutiny. Will the 57-year-old take this into account?
Meanwhile, Joe Rogan is his own man and doesn’t like to be told what to do, much like Dana White. Hence, it remains to be seen how things pan out for his show and Conor McGregor in the foreseeable future.
