Did Alex Pereira get robbed? UFC bantamweight fighter believes so
Most people were expecting a tough challenge for Alex Pereira when he butted heads with Magomed Ankalaev, but not many envisioned him losing the belt. The Brazilian was outfought by the Dagestan native, who ended up winning the contest via unanimous decision. Nevertheless, the former champion showcased great takedown defense as he canceled all of Ankalaev’s 11 takedown attempts, thus showcasing his improved grappling arsenal. It is safe to say that the former champion has more than just striking at his disposal.

However, after looking at the decision (48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 in favor of Ankalaev) given by the judges, Marlon Vera felt that the Brazilian should have emerged victorious. “I think Chama took it,” wrote ‘Chito’ on X. Moreover, the same sentiment was shared by former UFC heavyweight contender Brendan Schaub and former UFC title challenger Kenny Florian, both of whom gave the bout to ‘Poatan’.
Meanwhile, Pereira isn’t worried about the loss and is more concerned about getting his title back. Hence, he issued a statement following his fight, claiming that he’s going to make “adjustments” because he’s looking forward to fighting Magomed Ankalaev again. Now, let’s end this roundup edition with the final story of the day.
