Chris Eubank calls out Conor McGregor for crass behavior

Once a symbol of hope and perseverance for young men, Conor McGregor‘s name has become synonymous with controversies. Remember when ‘The Notorious’ spit in the face of an alleged Khabib fan? Yeah, we haven’t forgotten the incident that happened last month. Despite the victim not pressing charges against the Irish superstar, it further dropped McGregor’s stock, at least in the court of public opinion. And all of this didn’t sit well with boxing legend Chris Eubanks.

While having a conversation with the media, Eubank asserted, “I don’t watch a lot of news, but I saw [Conor McGregor] spat in the face of someone who said something unkind to him. Is this what we are? Is this who we are? Is this what we’re going to teach? I’m the big guy from Ireland, I’m the Celtic warrior, and you spit in the face of a stranger…this is the example you are teaching the youth in Ireland. This is disgraceful”

He further added, “We can’t do that. We have to understand the consequences of it. You’re turning your own people, or people who love you because of your style…throwing a chair at a [bus], showing the madman that you are…I’ve looked at your behavior, you’re proving yourself to be what we knew is behind that type of behavior.”

There was once a time when Eubank was all praises for Conor McGregor. Now, the former WBO champion joins the list of people who have lost respect for the Irishman. From Conor McGregor, let’s move on to news of an equally outspoken, but less controversial UFC superstar, Israel Adesanya.

Israel Adesanya and MVP test their grappling skills on one another

After losing three consecutive fights against top talents of the middleweight division, Israel Adesanya appears to be taking things a bit slower. The former two-time middleweight champion has asserted that he will bounce back from his string of losses, but the questions remain—when and how? The fighter recently provided an update on his comeback, as he has been spotted training alongside Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

In a video uploaded by Israel Adesanya on his Instagram handle, we can see the Kiwi and English middleweights engage in an intense grappling session. And both of them being strikers showed exceptionally sleek grappling prowess. Sources confirm that both of them are training in Saudi Arabia. We’re still waiting on news of Adesanya’s next fight, but in the meantime, let’s look at his other good friend Alexander Volkanovski as the Australian preps for his shot at featherweight gold again, against the dangerous Diego Lopes.

Alexander Volkanovski warns Diego Lopes ahead of UFC 314

Former featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski will be stepping inside the Octagon approximately a year after his knockout loss to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. ‘The Great’ will be sharing the stage with up-and-coming Diego Lopes for the vacant featherweight title at UFC 314. Ahead of their high-octane battle, Volkanovski is coming in with new vigor and a warning for the newer fighters in the organization.

“I want to get that win back, but I also want to prove that I can beat this new school. And I wanted to do that with Ilia, he’s gone, but I can still do that with the new school. Part of my comeback story is still that I can take out this new school. I still got these guys, trust me. So, that’s still good for my story. Lopes, young, hungry, he’s on a tear at the moment. Go out and do that, they’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow, Volk’s still got it’,” said Volkanovski in a conversation with Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

If Alexander Volkanovski wins his title back then he will be the second two-time featherweight champion in UFC history after Jose Aldo. On the other hand, if Diego Lopes wins the title, he will be the sixth featherweight champion in company history. What do you think? Who will be the champion by the end of UFC 314?
