As the world of mixed martial arts evolves, so shall the arena. With this in mind, Dana White decided to renovate the UFC Apex. Being the home for UFC Fight Nights, the arena had to be expanded to accommodate more people, with plans to make the fight experience more entertaining. And this building seems to have the potential to become a magnetic attraction for the fighting community.
During the pre-fight press conference for UFC 305, a reporter asked the UFC head honcho regarding the construction work being in progress at the UFC Apex. To this, White replied, “We’re doing a $20 million expansion here. We’re gonna invest a lot of money in this place. And we got some pretty big announcements coming up in the next 6 months. So, it’ll all sort of make sense on what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.”
Following DWCS season 8, UFC Apex was shut down in November 2024 and would reopen in mid-2025 in a brand new light. The UFC CEO had previously promised that the arena would have more hospitality, more seating, and more bathrooms. On top of that, White claimed that the team would start to travel and do more international events. But the Apex would remain a constant. After all, it was the Apex that saved the UFC during the COVID-19 pandemic.
