In MMA, anything can happen, and the newly confirmed Jon Jones vs Cormier 3 shows why. Both UFC veteran fighters carry a long, heated rivalry. At one point during its height, ‘Bones’ even infamously threatened ‘DC’ live on air, saying he would kill him after Cormier claimed he would spit on him. As it stands, Jon Jones currently holds the edge in their rivalry with one win and one no-contest.

But now, more than 8 years later, the Russian TUF-style show, ALF Reality, is set to fuel their long-standing feud in an incredible trilogy. Created by Russian influencer Alfredo Auditore, the show puts fighters together to live, train, and compete. Last year, Jon Jones coached against former UFC star Nate Diaz. Now, ‘Bones’ is returning to the show, which promises unscripted drama and tension between the fighters.

“BREAKING: Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will be going head to head as coaches in the new season of ALF Reality (aka Russian TUF),” Championship Rounds’ post on X read. “The most brutal reality show. Conflict between captains and fighters. It’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen,” Jon Jones stated via his Instagram. The two even faced off for the first time since their second bout in July 2017 at UFC 214—the images from which have now gone viral on the internet.

Jon Jones and Nate Diaz have mostly stayed on good terms, but it will be fascinating to see how things play out when ‘Bones’ and Daniel Cormier face off as coaches. Last year, the makers of ALF had approached ‘DC’, but family commitments prevented him from joining the show.

The former UFC champ must have reached an agreement, which explains his recent trip to Thailand. Interestingly, while many assumed last December that Cormier was on vacation, he was actually there to film the show.

In recent months, both veteran fighters have quietly expressed interest in facing each other multiple times. Just recently, Daniel Cormier revealed in his Christmas special interview with John Thomason that he wants to take on Jon Jones under RAF rules.

Daniel Cormier prioritizes Jon Jones matchup over Yoel Romero

Jon Jones holds the edge over Daniel Cormier in their overall UFC matchups. Both of their fights delivered memorable moments. Back at UFC 182, their first clash went the full five rounds, and ‘Bones’ dominated to win by decision.

Then, in the rematch at UFC 214, Jones went for a head knockout, sent the former Olympian to the ground, and finished Cormier. The promotion later overturned the result to a no-contest after Jones tested positive for a banned substance. Since then, promotions like the RAF have attracted UFC veterans such as Yoel Romero and Bo Nickal, offering opportunities that benefit both experienced wrestlers.

“These guys, they go make—they want money, or they need money. And so they’re willing to do things that may not be beneficial to keeping their brand intact,” Daniel Cormier said while speaking with Josh Thomson on his YouTube channel.

“I’d wrestle the right guy. I wrestle like Jon Jones. Not wrestling your Romero, bro. I wouldn’t wrestle him. He’s still good, man. He’s like insanely good. I wrestle like a Jon Jones survival,” Daniel Cormier added.

Now the spotlight turns to the Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier trilogy under the RAF banner. Could Cormier finally get his revenge if they face off on the mat? Share your prediction below.
