Joe Rogan jokes about compliments that do not help

Rogan and Greaney kicked off the show by discussing the violent content often present in the ‘Gray Man’ novels. Rogan described them as “f**ed up books” and joked about how Greaney could not be a psycho.

Greaney agreed he shared the same thoughts sporadically. He mentioned how he wonders if his kid’s friends’ parents know about the type of content he writes and what they thought of him. Interestingly, Rogan shared a similar sentiment.

After laughing over the matter, Rogan explained how he listened to Greaney’s books in an environment that suited its content.

How Rogan listens to ‘Gray Man’ novels

Rogan revealed to Greany that he found the content of his novels very violent. Therefore, Rogan had a ritual for reading those books. Specifically, he listened to the audiobooks of those novels while in the sauna. The millionaire host of JRE even had a reason to justify this practice.

He said, “I listen to them on audio when I’m in the sauna all the time. Because the sauna is so torturous because I keep it at 190 degrees and I’m in there for 25 minutes. It’s f***ing rough… The kind of insane narratives you create, the kind of situations you create in your mind, they’re very good when you’re suffering.”

Rogan also labeled it “a great instrument of escapism” after Greaney revealed how his book helped people pass time when stuck at airports and such.
