Aljamain Sterling is all set to face Bantamweight fighter Sean O’Malley for the main event at UFC 292. However, there has been some back and forth regarding the fight schedule which didn’t sit right with the UFC President. He made his displeasure about the entire ordeal known with an interesting development regarding another Bantamweight fighter.

UFC, Dana White, Cejudo, and more – Sterling unleashed

The backlash that Sterling had to face because of Dana White‘s recent press conference was unjust, according to the fighter. It put him in a bad light whereas the reality was far from it. In an interview with FunMasterMMA, Sterling divulged the other side of the story. Talking about Henry Cejudo, he said, “Greatest combat athlete of all time, self-proclaimed. I beat this guy also with a partially torn bicep tendon.”. Visibly agitated and disturbed, Sterling continued, “Every single time they’ve asked me to fight, I’ve saddled up put my nuts on the table and I showed out every single time and I won. So it’s just like.. at what point do I get credit from the UFC – from Uncle David.”

Hurt by Dana White’s comments and disposition towards him, Sterling spoke sternly about the UFC President. “Dana’s super nice behind closed doors, but then he tells me I can’t get out of my own way. I’m like, what does that even mean? Just clarify what that means. And if we’re going to say things because of me saying like yeah I’m fighting but I’m also banged up [inaduible].. There’s never been a fight that was scheduled where people signed the contract. And remember contracts are just for formality – it’s just to say hey you’re going to show up. No one’s gonna sign the contract but actually just not show up in the UFC – that just doesn’t happen. So let’s stop pretending that’s a thing.”

Hi, I am Arghyadeep, a UFC Writer at EssentiallySports. Being brought up alongside two brothers who were avid WWE fans, I had no option but to watch alongside them and sometimes even partake in their ‘re-enactments’. However, I found myself gravitating towards combat sports soon after. Whilst WWE (then known as WWF) was my introduction to combat sports, I stumbled upon something that interested me even more back in 2011, when I witnessed my favorite UFC fighter Jon Jones battle it out with Rampage Jackson. Besides being a UFC fan, I am also a professional singer. I go on tours and I perform all across the country as well. Music and UFC go hand-in-hand for me and I hope that someday, I can attend a UFC event somewhere and cover that event live. If you want to say hello…
