It has been about 6 years since Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson exited the octagon and never returned. But you could never really separate the cage from the Rampage. Over the past few years, he has campaigned for matches against his rivals and taken on a project for the sport’s fallen heroes. Plus, the gym is never too far in his streams. However, looks like the joy of the grind wears thin eventually.

After a troubling week that saw his son, Raja, get arrested and released overnight for assaulting professional wrestler Syko Stu, the Rampage shared a glimpse of his state of mind on Instagram stories. No legal matters, just a clip of the former UFC champion working out. But what followed was the surprising caption: “You can tell I hate this s–t.”

For over three decades, the Rampage has been known to put in the extra work. The last time he wished he didn’t have to go through the rigorous routine, he was 35 years old, running 7 miles to start the morning. He’d follow it up with Muay Thai or boxing, and then Jiu Jitsu or wrestling for round two.

What really tested his limits, though, was the strength and conditioning. It would have him wishing he weren’t a fighter. But, well, he had no choice then. Today, he does.

Physically away from the octagon, the Rampage has found ways to remain relevant and close to the game. Being a streamer is one part of it. For the rest, he owns a UFL franchise, interviews fighters on his podcast, and even announced an MMA promo, ‘Rampage Combat’, last month. But more recently, he revealed a new project: “Rampage Jackson’s Resurrecting: Riddick.”

The series is said to follow Jackson as he helps rehabilitate the athletes who were once popular figures in the sport. For the pilot episode, it was Riddick Bowe, who made $80 million in his career but is now homeless. The production, created by Rampage himself, plans on bringing more celebrity fans in the future to help out the fallen players.

So if Quinton Jackson wants to give that gym a rest, he has very rightly positioned himself to do so. However, it isn’t all a worry-free life.

Rampage Jackson’s turmoil over his son gets bitter

Last month, Jackson’s son, Raja, was involved in a horrifying act of aggression, viciously assaulting Stuart Smith, also known as Syko Stu. The consequences only played out a few days ago when he was arrested in Huntington Beach, California. Rampage, however, made clear that he was maintaining composure. He also didn’t hold back from saying that Raja needed to learn his lesson. Because the injuries updates that rolled in, weren’t simple to get past.

Taking to social media, Stu’s partner revealed that he had suffered trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth. “He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through,” she shared further.

The anger from both the professional wrestling and MMA communities for this vicious attack has not subsided. Reports say that Raja was bonded overnight after being held on a $50,000 bail. Nonetheless, he has a long road of legal proceedings ahead of him. Rampage, though, continues to  share updates about his content on Instagram, which may look like an attempt to divert the public’s attention.
