The UFC superstar Conor McGregor has always surprised the world with his opinions on other MMA fighters. The Irishman has his own way of judging the capabilities of each fighter. When UFC 288 came to an end, the UFC superstar came up with a tweet against Henry Cejudo. ‘The Messenger’ and Aljamain Sterling came face-to-face for the bantamweight title shot. Cejudo was coming back to the UFC octagon after three long years. Many believed that the ring rust might have destroyed the fighting abilities of ‘Triple C.” However, Cejudo was able to have a close fight against Sterling. After the five-round bout, the former two-division champion lost the bout via split decision.

Cejudo’s last bout in the UFC was against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Following the bout, he announced his retirement. However, the UFC two-division champion later changed his decision and came back to fight for the bantamweight title. It seems that the Irishman has no hope when it comes to Cejudo, as his record doesn’t look good for him. McGregor feels that Cejudo has not fought enough MMA fights. Additionally, the same fact makes him feel that ‘Triple C’ is still new in MMA.

Conor McGregor claims Henry Cejudo is a mere beginner in MMA

The Irishman took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, “16 wins 2 losses. Guys is a novice in MMA“. McGregor was pointing out Cejudo, whose MMA record stands at 16-2. After coming across the tweet from ‘The Notorious,” fans reminded McGregor that he has more losses than Cejudo. ‘Triple C’ just suffered yet another loss in his career. After coming back, he was confident that he would emerge victorious against “The Funkmaster’.

Nonetheless, things didn’t go as planned for the two-division champion. The Irishman, who has a record of twenty-two victories and six losses, feels that Cejudo’s record is equal to that of a new fighter in MMA. He didn’t bother to look through the achievements of Cejudo as an athlete.

The achievements of ‘Triple C’

Cejudo was the former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion. After winning the championship in two different weight classes, ‘The Messenger’ became the fourth fighter to hold belts in two divisions at the same time. He was the second fighter in the history of the UFC to defend both his titles in different weight divisions.

"Like many, my journey into the beautiful game began by watching the mesmerizing Lionel Messi, as his impeccable vision on the pitch and role as a playmaker, meticulously calculating the path to goal always amazed me. This fascination with the finer details of soccer strategy naturally extended to my interest in content strategy. However, my zeal for being a soccer content analyst is not only because of Messi's magic, as I am a keen follower of the Becks as well. While in David Beckham, it was a special affinity for his mastery of crosses, passes, and set pieces, in Victoria Beckham, the fashion queen, I find inspiration in how she masterfully navigated the world of aesthetics and brand identity. This unique blend of admiration for both the tactical intricacies of soccer and the world of fashion and entertainment helps me to cover the game from angles that seamlessly balance sport and entertainment. Before joining EssentiallySports, I worked as a content analyst as well. A Master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from a premiere institute has helped me hone my writing skills and given me a unique perspective on the world of sports. Interestingly, besides soccer, I also extensively covered UFC, especially the Joe Rogan podcast. In my free time, I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest developments in the world of sports.
