Former UFC star Gina Carano shared a major update about her life recently. However, not all were happy. Yesterday, MVP held the first official presser for the May 16 Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano bout. During the presser, fighters started taking questions from fans, as has been the tradition for such events. But one fan’s question led to an unexpected announcement. 

“I actually moved up to Montana. I live on a farm,” Carano replied when asked to reveal something people don’t know. “I got married to my first and last love, Kevin Ross. And it was the best thing I’ve ever done. And that’s probably what people don’t know. So, now you all know I’m married.”

She proudly showed off her diamond while smiling joyfully. Back in 2015, Carano and Ross, a Muay Thai and kickboxer, went public with their relationship for the second time after first dating during the mid 2000s. Carano had shared a picture on social media, showing her kissing Ross.

“For those of you [who] don’t know, we dated for 4 years,” Ross wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “[But] were broken up for a decade, then got back together on the 14th anniversary of the day we met. Gina is not only the reason I’m even doing what I am, but literally the reason that I’m even alive and walking around still. You are my inspiration, my best friend, my everything!!!”

Gina Carano has also dated Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill in the past. The two reportedly met through mutual connections and made their relationship public in 2013. Their relationship lasted roughly two years before the pair split in late 2014. It was soon after that she got back together with Kevin Ross. Regardless, when Netflix shared a clip from the presser on Instagram, fans’ reactions appeared to reflect a sense of surprise, and some were even heartbroken.

Carano’s admirers quickly flooded the comment section. One user wrote: “We are all heartbroken!!!!” As one of the most beautiful MMA stars ever, someone who easily found a place in Hollywood, it’s understandable why combat fans would feel this way.

Even the next user expressed a similar sentiment. “Upsetting news of the day,” the user commented. Other than her relationships with Kevin Ross and Henry Cavill, Gina Carano has also been linked to former UFC fighter Kit Cope in the late 2000s. However, that relationship was very short-lived. 

Meanwhile, the update appears to have angered one fan. “Not watching the fight anymore 😡😡😡,” the user commented sarcastically. If this was enough to anger the fan, he might not want to know about what Kope once claimed. In 2009, he joked that he had a s— tape with Carano, but later walked back his claim, claiming it was only a joke.

This fan recognized how lucky Kevin Ross is. “😍 Goddess. Lucky husband,” the user wrote. Ross and Carano were dating from the mid-2000s to 2008 before they initially broke up. However, as is the case with all great relationships, they eventually got back together again in 2015 and are married today.

While everyone else was talking about Carano’s marriage update, this user revealed what they expect from the 43-year-old. “Gina, I want you to win, not a fan of Ronda Rousey,” the user declared. Ronda Rousey, once a celebrated fighter, has managed to become a polarizing figure because of her last two devastating UFC losses as well as her critical views and seemingly standoffish temperament.
