UFC Noche reached its peak inside Texas’ Frost Bank Center as the prelims hit their midpoint. Some fighters claimed victories, while others suffered defeats. Meanwhile, the middleweight clash between Zachary Reese and Sedriques Dumas took an unexpected turn. In the first round, Reese delivered a vicious low blow to Dumas’ groin, leaving him in unbearable pain and unable to continue. “I cannot feel my right b-ll,” Dumas reportedly exclaimed to the side, prompting doctors to rush into the Octagon.

Notably, this marked at least the third time ‘The Reaper’ tried to claim a disqualification win, though whether he acted intentionally remains a point of debate. Furthermore, the incident adds another layer of complication to Sedriques Dumas’ already tumultuous career. In April 2025, authorities arrested the UFC middleweight in Florida on multiple charges, including felony home invasion robbery. Due to these legal issues, restrictions—including an ankle monitor and a 100-mile travel radius—prevented him from competing at UFC 317 in June 2025.

His legal team filed a motion to modify the bond agreement, but the earliest available court date arrived too late to allow him to fight. Now, his UFC Noche appearance ended in disappointment. Consequently, with the bout ultimately declared a no contest, American senior journalist Luke Thomas weighed in: “Dumas had to ask a judge to get his ankle monitor removed due to the alleged crimes he recently committed. All of that so he could travel for this event and get kicked in the balls almost as soon as the bout begins. And they wave it! What a waste of everyone’s time.”

With the latest controversy, Sedriques Dumas’ career faces mounting pressure as fans grow increasingly frustrated. Off the Octagon, his financial troubles compound the situation. Ongoing lawsuits have reportedly drained the 30-year-old Floridian’s resources, a reality Dumas highlighted before UFC Noche by sharing a screenshot of just $13 in his bank account on social media.

UFC Noche star Sedriques Dumas reflects on the challenges of being an adult

Sedriques Dumas’ life outside the Octagon has matched the turbulence of his fights inside it. The UFC middleweight, arrested around a dozen times since turning 18, landed in hot water again with a May incident involving his ex-girlfriend. According to reports, Dumas allegedly entered her home uninvited, grabbed her cell phone, snatched necklaces from her neck, and threw her around the room. He also tried to reclaim a ring he had previously given her, reportedly saying, “If I’m going to jail then I’m going to get my rings back.”

As a result, the fallout from the incident upended his life, forcing him to miss UFC 317 while wearing an ankle monitor. Moving to the Octagon, Dumas last faced Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 314. The Polish fighter, known as the adopted Fighting Nerd, finished ‘The Reaper’ in the first round—a stoppage Dumas disputed, insisting it came too early. Between that fight and his next scheduled bout, Dumas had to resolve multiple legal matters before stepping back into the Octagon.

Looking ahead, with his upcoming fight in San Antonio less than a week away, Dumas exposed the stark reality of his finances. Sharing a screenshot of his bank account, which held just $13.96, he said: “This is a price of being an adult and paying legal actions and stuff in your life. I hate to hear people say people don’t struggle at a big scene. Yeah, y’all can laugh about it. I’m just giving y’all something to laugh about.”

As for what’s next for ‘The Reaper,’ it remains to be seen—especially given Dana White’s reputation for taking a hard line when fighters disrupt his events. Fans will want to stay tuned for further updates.
