The UFC’s return to Philadelphia delivered plenty of action, but one fighter was left needing immediate medical attention after suffering a gruesome mouth injury during a hard-fought battle.

In the prelims, middleweight contender Tresean Gore fought UFC veteran Vicente Luque in a brutal three-round battle. The bout turned into an exhilarating 15-minute contest, with Gore wobbling Luque multiple times. The Brazilian also had his opponent caught in a vicious headlock. But in the end, Gore managed to survive and take the victory home via unanimous decision. While the South Carolina native earned one of the biggest victories of his career tonight, it came at a high cost. Gore lost multiple teeth during the bout.
During the post-fight interview, Joe Rogan noticed that Gore had suffered a bad mouth injury and ended up asking him about it. The 32-year-old pulled down his bottom lip and showed the damage to his teeth on camera. According to Gore, the injury was likely the result of Luque’s flying knee, landing towards the end of the fight. But despite his injury, Gore continued speaking to Rogan.
“I don’t give a f—k,” Gore said in the Octagon interview. “It is what it is. I can get that s—t fixed. I might be talking with a lisp right now, but damnit, I’m going home with two checks, so I’ll get it fixed with one of my checks.”
While the South Carolina native was speaking to Rigan about his mouth injury, the camera panned toward his cornerman, who was now holding up one of his broken teeth. While he was joyous about getting the win, soon after the interview, reports emerged that Tresean Gore had been rushed to a Philadelphia hospital for treatment.
MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn confirmed the reports that Gore had been hospitalized.
“To no one’s surprise, Tresean Gore has been transported to a Philadelphia hospital and won’t speak to media after his #UFC330 win, per UFC PR. Mouth is mangled,” Bohn wrote on X.
When it comes to injuries, Gore definitely has some history with them.

The 32-year-old has had multiple fight cancellations due to injuries, such as pulling out of his 2021 debut against Bryan Battle because of a pre-fight knee injury. He also suffered a wrist injury before fighting Bo Nickal at UFC 290, and his battle with injuries just didn’t stop there. Gore endured another shoulder injury before facing AJ Dobson ahead of UFC 298.
As is evident, most of Gore’s injuries have happened before his fights. In this case, he suffered a massive injury for the first time during a fight, which raises a big question about his comeback.
UFC 330 winner Tresean Gore could be out for months after freak teeth injury
Before Tresean Gore’s gruesome teeth injury, former UFC light heavyweight Devin Clark also suffered a similar injury. Back in September 2021, the South Dakota-based fighter faced Ion Cutelaba at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Spann, where things quickly went south for him.
After a competitive opening round, Cutelaba turned up the aggression with his striking in the following round. The Moldovan tagged Clark with some heavy shots before landing a well-timed knee flush on his opponent’s face. The knee strike ended up giving Clark more than a concussion, as it severely damaged his teeth. However, Clark continued fighting after consulting with his corner and made it through the entire 15-minute battle, despite ultimately losing via unanimous decision.
Following the fight, the ‘Brown Bear’ immediately went to the hospital, where doctors placed a metal wire and temporary braces to stabilize his teeth. Since none of his teeth had fallen out, the dentist told him that the damage should heal on its own. On top of that, Clark also suffered a knee injury during the fight. As a result, his comeback was delayed by seven months, with the former light heavyweight returning against William Knight in April 2022.
In that case, we could be looking at a similar timeline or longer for Tresean Gore. Though it’s unclear whether he suffered any additional injuries, the fact that one of his teeth came out completely means he will likely need considerable time to recover properly. So, we could potentially see him back in action only by next year.
