Ilia Topuria was supposed to get some answers after UFC 314. Once the cage doors shut on Saturday, he was no longer the featherweight champion, so isn’t there supposed to be some development with regard to his next fight? Well, Dana White said he had a lot on his mind, but there working on something. And since ‘La Leyenda’ hasn’t been making any noise as of yet, we’re guessing he’s put his faith in the UFC top brass delivering him something promising. He’s got one name in the mix, and that’s the lightweight champion.

And, well, Makhachev is in no mood to entertain another featherweight stepping up. So, right now, it’s all ambiguous. We just have to wait for word from the promotion itself, or some sneaky journalist getting an inside scoop. Meanwhile, there’s other news concerning the Spanish-Georgian while he waits for what’s next in his career. And that is an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

MMA Orbit posted news by Jorge Ebro and Álvaro Colmenero on X that, “Former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria is reportedly set to appear on a future episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.”

For Ilia Topuria, an appearance on JRE is just the push he needs to make his case for double-gold, given the potential the podcast episode has, in terms of viewership. In a conversation with FULLSEND PODCAST this February, the former featherweight champion said, “I just saw [that clip], it was so fun. I don’t know, it was so fun that someone is not accepting Kamala Harris because they want to watch my fight against Max Holloway. That’s fun! He didn’t have to say that, he could’ve closed his mouth and not said anything, but I love Joe Rogan.”

When asked about the potential interview in his podcast, the Georgian Spaniard said, “If he invites me, why not? He’s the best. Yeah, you can’t refuse that invitation.” Now that this news might be true, fans gushed over the possibility in the comments.

MMA Fans rush to comment on a possible JRE episode with Ilia Topuria

One fan excitedly commented, “That’d be sick hope we get him on and Volk said he wants to be back on too. It’s true that Alexander Volkanovski, who made history again as a two-time featherweight champ, wants to come back to JRE. While giving the Octagon interview with Rogan he said, “I think we are due for another podcast,” Rogan immediately replied, “Let’s do it, my brother.”

Another follower said, “Bring Arman as a surprise guest and watch Ilia jump outside the window immediately.somehow suggesting that Topuria is afraid of facing Arman Tsarukyan. But Topuria’s team said that “Ilia wants a championship fight,” to Russian media agency TASS, making it clear that “He will not fight for the status of a contender with Tsarukyan or anyone else.” However, the Armenian is open to fighting the Spanish-Georgian and expressed the same in an interview with MMA Junkie.

Another follower asked,Where is the Conor McGregor episode? It’s still a big question why the dual-weight champ has never been to Joe Rogan’s podcast. Conor McGregor had posted on X about the same in March, saying, What’s up @joerogan my man I messaged you! Are you looking for a guest on the podcast? I have a great one for you! However, one reason for his not appearing in the podcast might be Rogan and his past feuds. In 2019, McGregor criticized Rogan’s commentary on his fights, especially during the UFC 229 bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov. He said, as per BJPenn.com, “I’d like him to call a fight how he sees it correctly and not be reading off a script.”

Meanwhile, one follower said, “They’re doing everything to make Ilia the biggest star,” while another commented, “Let’s gooooo.” A fan of Topuria wrote, “Need it,”, while another disinterested follower said, “Joe fell off. No one cares.” Do you think this podcast episode will be announced soon? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
