Former UFC fighter Justin Jaynes has a history of getting into trouble because of using banned substances. And now, it seems that even more bad times are coming after him. Following the third violation of his career, the Nevada State Athletic Commission decided to punish ‘Guitar Hero’ with a suspension, and a lifetime ban is also a real possibility hanging over his head.

Following a recent test, Jaynes tested positive for c—ne metabolites, prompting the NSAC to suspend him for 1.5 years, roughly 18 months. But that is not all when it comes to the ex-UFC fighter’s troubling situation. The commission made it clear that if the 36-year-old commits another violation, he will receive a lifetime ban from competing in Nevada, which is also his hometown.

“Former UFC fighter Justin Jaynes has been suspended 18 months by NSAC for a positive test for c—ne metabolites,” Nolan King of MMA Junkie posted on X. “It’s his third drug violation. The commission says if he ever has a fourth violation, he’ll receive a lifetime ban in Nevada,” he added.

For the unversed, Jaynes had been strictly penalized before. Going back to 2021, the Nevada native received a four-and-a-half-month suspension alongside fellow fighter Yancy Medeiros for Mar—ana usage. What made it more surprising was that, at that point, the commission had largely moved away from harsh punishments for that substance. Yet both fighters still got suspended and even had to pay prosecution fees, a decision that raised plenty of eyebrows.

Four years after that suspension, ‘Guitar Hero’ once again faced the commission’s wrath. After Justin Jaynes secured a unanimous decision victory over Marlon Gonzales at Tuff-N-Uff 149, regulators tested him and flagged the same c—ne metabolites, triggering another suspension and adding further damage to his record.

Now, with another violation on file, the 36-year-old faces a massive career setback as he loses the chance to compete on his home turf. Meanwhile, the punishment did not stop with him, as two fighters competing under Dana White’s UFC banner suffered the same fate.

After testing positive for the banned substance BPC 157, the TUF Season 30 winner was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission and awarded a hefty 30-month spell out of competition. So, when will Kamaru Usman’s brother’s ban end? For the record, the heavyweight will be eligible to return after April 2028, if the commission does not extend his suspension.

However, Usman’s brother is not the only one to receive severe punishment. Even a ranked UFC fighter came under CSAD’s scrutiny. Top-ranked strawweight Iasmin Lucindo received a 9-month stay-out-of-the-cage order after the UFC’s anti-doping body suspended her when mesterolone was found in her bloodstream. But the Brazilian can breathe a little easier knowing she was not punished as harshly as some others.

According to Lucindo’s manager, there is a chance the 115er accidentally consumed the substance through dietary means. CSAD also gave her some consideration, as she had maintained an unblemished record before the recent positive test.
