Conor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez pulled in a gate of a massive $17,700,000 with an attendance of 20,427. Years have passed by and this record is yet to be broken by any fighter or even the promotion, but the UFC CEO is certain that they have already way past this number with the UFC Noche event. How? Let’s find out.

Dana White makes a bold claim about the $22 million gate for the UFC Sphere

While having a conversation with ‘Grind City Media’, Dana White ascertained that he is not even a bit worried about Canelo Alvarez taking on Edgar Berlanga on the same night of the UFC Noche event. Why? Well, that’s because according to the UFC CEO, the Noche event will not only be one of the biggest revenue generators for the promotion but it will also break Conor McGregor’s 8-year-long record of the highest gate in the UFC.

During the conversation, Dana ͏Wh͏ite h͏a͏s ann͏ounced tha͏t Noche͏ ͏UFC is ͏nearly so͏ld͏ o͏ut͏, with fewer than 1,000͏͏ t͏͏ickets͏ rema͏ining. ͏Th͏e event͏ ha͏s set a c͏ompany-r͏e͏cord gate ͏of $2͏3 m͏ill͏io͏n,͏ surpassing ͏the earlier estimate͏ of ͏$2͏1 ͏͏million. Well, how far is this true for White? The same question was asked to him at the DWCS press conference and the UFC CEO ascertained that it’s completely true, “Yeah, it’s a big deal, especially for a fight like this,” said Dana White.

He further added, “You know me, I love to break records, so this is going to be the biggest gate we’ve ever done in the history of the company, and the most pre-buys on the PPV ever too. People are buying the event the week before, and the week of the event. So yeah, as we continue to get closer to Saturday, I’m sure we will be breaking more records.”

White would honor Canelo Alvarez at UFC 306

Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga will be happening on the same night just miles apart from the Sphere at the T-Mobile arena. The boxing match is unintentionally going head-on against the promotion. It must be noted that Alvarez refused to shift the date and is eager to clash with the promotion as he wants to showcase his star power. Dana White had previously accused them of stealing the date it looks like the CEO has now changed his tunes.

As a kid growing up, white kid from here, I was a big Julio Cesar Chavez fan…You’ll see [whether he will be honored]…We’re gonna honor everybody. Everybody who ever came from Mexico and fought for anything will be honored in this show…Canelo [Alvarez] is definitely part of it,” said Dana White in a conversation with Vegas PBS.

It must be noted that even Dana White’s staunch critic Oscar De La Hoya will also be at the UFC Sphere to witness the event, so White’s appreciation for Alvarez’s Mexican heritage infornt of the Mexican audience would for sure help him.
