Back in January, the inaugural ‘Eve Ball’ by Turning Point USA at the Salamander Hotel in Washington, D.C., was held as part of Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration on January 20. His long-time supporters all gathered for celebrations, bringing together Conor McGregor and Charlie Kirk at the event. Back then, the Irish UFC legend didn’t know this would become the last time he would see the 32-year-old. 

The right-wing CEO of Turning Point USA was assassinated on September 13, 2025, during a speaking event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. It was Turning Point’s campus tour, where Kirk engaged with students in a debate-style format. That’s when it happened! A single gunshot struck Kirk in the neck, and he immediately collapsed with severe blood loss. He was rushed to the Timpanogos Regional Hospital, but was soon pronounced dead. 

Conor McGregor expands upon his reaction

On September 21, Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, addressed a crowd of 60,000 gathered to mourn the conservative commentator’s passing with a deeply emotional speech. Erika, who is set to step in as CEO of Turning Point, said, “My husband Charlie, he wanted to save young men just like the one who took his life… That young man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did and is what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate.”

Reacting to her remarks, Conor McGregor initially kept his response brief, writing simply “Wow” on X. Now, more than a week later, the UFC star has expanded on his reaction with a tribute of his own. Posting a photo from the Turning Point USA inaugural ‘Eve Ball’ in Washington, D.C., McGregor wrote, “More power to this movement and its people! Rest in Peace [Charlie Kirk].” McGregor, however, is far from the only one to have spoken out about Kirk since his death.

Dana White calls for unity, normalcy after Kirk’s death

UFC CEO Dana White recently spoke to Fox News’ Special Report, claiming the tragedy was “hard to wrap your brain around.” He explained, “Things started to feel better and get normal again, and then that happened, and it’s almost like, you know, it’s all starting over again. Not just my daughter, a lot of kids were impacted by this, kids who loved and respected Charlie.”

White said what he hopes for is “some unity, coming back together as a country and stop all the in-fighting and the finger-pointing, and just some normalcy again.” He also revealed how deeply his children were affected, particularly his 19-year-old daughter, who “has been just destroyed over this thing for the last couple days.” White added, “You have to feel horrible for his family. It’s f—ing crazy.”

That being said, the entire country appears to have been left shaken by the assassination of  Charlie Kirk. While Conor McGregor and Dana White have shared their thoughts, they aren’t the only ones. What do you make of all this?
