The fire in Los Angeles is showing no signs of slowing down. Amid the dry weather, firefighters continue to fight the flames that have claimed the lives of at least eleven people and have razed 15,000 hectares of land. At least thirteen people have gone missing in the serious fires. As a result, UFC fighter Colby Covington has decided to let go of his bad-boy image and offer help to the ones in need.

Taking to his Instagram account, Covington shared the GoFundMe page created by JT Longoria on his Instagram story about rebuilding the house where five Pepperdine students were living. The house was burned to the ground by the Palisades fire, and now Covington and others are helping them reach the $35k goal. The flames that began last Tuesday are responsible for at least 12,000 damaged buildings and tens of thousands of people evacuated.

The most devastating of the active fires, it is now moving eastward, threatening residential neighborhoods such as Encino and Brentwood, where personalities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and LeBron James have their homes. The spread of this fire has prompted new evacuation orders. Moreover, the evacuation targets local gems, such as the Paul Getty Museum, which is within the evacuation zone.

Is Colby Covington's new hero image genuine, or just another strategy to win fans over?

Have an interesting take?

In a clip from Twitch, the 36-year-old fighter could be seen driving around the city while looking for any homeless in need. He comes across a man in need and helps him out by donating some food and water. If that didn’t melt the heart of his fans, Covington then proceeded to give him a sweater to survive the chilly winter months. Wishing the homeless man a Happy New Year, they promise each other to work together to make 2025 the best year of their lives.

It is worth noting that it is the same Colby Covington who crossed all limits of trash-talking by poking fun at Leon Edwards’ deceased father during the UFC 296 press conference. He has time and again claimed that he plays this persona of a bad guy to sell his fights, but now it seems like he is finally tired of it. But what do you think? Has Colby Covington decided to turn a new leaf and become a good guy now? Let us know in the comments.
