At UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett didn’t just knock out Michael Chandler—he announced himself as the next big thing in the division. Riding a red-hot winning streak, ‘The Baddy’ captivated fans not only with his explosive performance but also with something else entirely—his thick Scouser accent. Pimblett doesn’t just fight; he entertains. From calling opponents a “little helmet” to labeling them a “sausage,” his one-liners are pure gold for MMA fans. Caught up in the moment, Joe Rogan even tried mimicking the accent—only for it to backfire hilariously.
Paddy Pimblett was wreaking havoc as Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier, and Jon Anik witnessed from the cage side. Amidst the chaos, Anik chimed in to ask his fellow commentator about Paddy Pimblett’s brutal performance, “Because man, I mean if you think he muted some naysayers against King Green, look what he did tonight.” Joe Rogan responded to Anik’s question as he stated that Pimblett’s performance was gold. But what he likes about the lightweight is the fact that his post-fight interviews are just as gold.

He added, “I love his post-fight speeches, too. He just shuts all the haters down. He gives them more fuel. [mimicking Paddy] ‘What are you gonna say now?’ He’s so fun. He’s so fun. He had people… Lopez was doing it when he was coming out. It’s so addictive. What is that? It’s like the Trump dance. It’s his version of the Trump dance.”
Born and brought up in Liverpool, Paddy Pimblett carries a thick Scouse accent, known for being fast, gritty, and influenced by Irish and Welsh roots. ‘The Baddy’ has made his accent a signature trait that sets him apart from other fighters. Attempting to impersonate him often invites ridicule, much like the backlash Joe Rogan is currently facing.

Fans call for retirement as Joe Rogan fails in Paddy Pimblett impersonation
Starting off, a frustrated fan emphasized, “That’s one of the worst impressions of anybody I’ve ever seen.” Joe Rogan has a knack for hilarious impressions. You can find plenty of such instances on JRE. Unfortunately, the Scouser accent evades him.
Moreover, another fan added that a situation like this really calls for Michael Bisping to intervene and shut Rogan, as opposed to Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik who laughed and went along with it: “And both of his “friends” busted out laughing, so plastic, sometimes you need a Bispping to say stuff like “wtf was that Joe?”

Another social media user was a bit harsh on the UFC color commentator, stating,“He should’ve retired over half a decade ago. He’s a low IQ casual.” Well, Rogan might not retire from the sport anytime soon, as he has said he’ll retire when Dana White does. But he has been caught slipping on the mic on more than one occasion now. The reason could be that his attention is not as much on MMA and BJJ as it used to be. He’s a multimillion-dollar podcaster and a comedy club owner with divided attention. This was perfectly exemplified as another fan highlighted a flaw in Joe Rogan’s commentary from UFC 314: “Rogan also thought it was a three round fight.” The co-main event between Chandler and Pimblett was actually a five-rounder!

There are growing calls for Joe Rogan to retire and fans appear to be frustrated, “Wish he fucking would.” Last but not least, a social media user was curious about what Daniel Cormier was doing in the background: “What is DC doing tho.” Well, he was doing a dance, which Pimblett does after winning his battle.
Was the Paddy Pimblett impersonation really that bad, or was it just an exaggeration from the fans? State your thoughts in the comments below.
