Conor McGregor will not return to the UFC first; instead, he could step into the boxing ring to face former WWE United States Champion Logan Paul. In a message posted on his official X account a few weeks ago, McGregor shared that he and Paul are in talks to organize a boxing match to be held in India. Now, the Irishman has seemingly confirmed it all by taking to his social media yet again.

On his X account, the Irishman uploaded a picture of Logan Paul, as he wrote, “$250,000,000 🇮🇳 #ImComing.” For the unaware,”. ‘The Notorious’ is apparently in talks with the Ambani family, the richest family in Asia. Mukesh Ambani is the Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries. As the ninth-richest person on the planet, with an estimated net worth of $100 billion, Ambani certainly has the resources to stage a fight between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul, and now it seems like they have finally finished the negotiations, as McGregor hinted.

Conor McGregor does have some boxing experience, including an exhibition with Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in 2017 for which he reportedly earned $130 million. The older Paul brother also has a background in boxing and has a 1-1 record in professional bouts. His most recent win was against Dillon Danis in October 2023. Now, this boxing fight would certainly be the biggest purse that the two fighters would be earning in one night.

It is also worth noting that as per Ben Davis from Misfits Boxing, the discussions for the boxing bout are underway, and the Dana White-led promotion is playing an important role in it. How? Well, according to Davis, Dana White is willing to let the Irishman fight Logan Paul irrespective of his contract with the biggest MMA promotion in the world. That’s because the UFC would have permitted McGregor to compete against Paul, despite his contract with UFC President Dana White’s mixed martial arts promotion.

‘The Notorious’ one has not fought since July 2021, when he suffered a snapped tibia against Dustin Poirier. He was scheduled to return against Michael Chandler last year at UFC 303 before Conor McGregor withdrew because of a broken toe. Since then, it has been nothing but downhill for the Irishman. A series of legal issues plagued his return; now this boxing bout against Logan Paul has put another question mark on McGregor’s return to the Octagon. But another question that plagues the mind is, can the Irishman still box?

Brendan Schaub drops his verdict on Conor McGregor’s fate

With the fight world buzzing with the anticipation of seeing the fight, many MMA fans and pundits have started dropping their predictions on it. One such man is Brendan Schaub. As per the former MMA fighter, this should be a relatively easy fight for the former UFC double champion. After all, McGregor was known for his elite striking, and with years of MMA experience behind him, Logan Paul should be an easy opponent, unlike Mayweather. But there is one scenario that can turn the tide. Something that was explained by the fighter-turned-comedian.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Conor McGregor still deliver a knockout punch, or is his prime long gone?

Have an interesting take?

Speaking to the Thiccc Boy podcast, Schaub expressed his concerns about the Irishman’s seriousness. Since McGregor is diving too deep into the partying lifestyle, it is possible that he may get into the fight much underprepared than required. This would give Logan Paul the winning edge to turn the result in his favor. He said, “My only concern too is if Conor doesn’t take this seriously, you know, kind of moseys in, he’s partying—you know, I think he’d get f-cked up. I think if he’s not on it, he’d get f-cked up. That’s what’s interesting to me now.”

He further added, “If it’s Prime Conor, like the one that beat Diego Brandao or beat Eddie Alvarez or that beat, you know, Nate Diaz, he shows up for that, Logan might get pieced up. Should, but I don’t know if that version might be gone.” But what do you think? Will the second boxing venture stop Conor McGregor from making a return in 2025, or will UFC fans get to see ‘The Notorious’ back to his striking best inside the Octagon? Let us know in the comments.
