On July 31, 2022, the former Boston Celtics player passed away at the age of 88. Later, Russell’s official Instagram page posted a message to his family, friends, and followers confirming the news.

The video was first posted on Instagram by well-known tattoo artist Steve Butcher in honor of the late NBA legend. Rogan, 55, is fascinated by tattooing and has inked both of his arms.

Rogan was, therefore, intrigued by Butcher’s art. The UFC color commentator later posted it on his page with a tribute to the legendary NBA player. He also praised the art in the caption.

Even the UFC color commentator Rogan agrees with that statement. In one episode of his widely heard podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the 55-year-old was discussing the aspects that make a great athlete.

It was then that the JRE host talked highly about the NBA Hall of Famer. “You get someone who has physical talent, genetic gifts, the mind for it, discipline, consistent work ethic, and then you get greatness. But also mental illness, you need to be… Like Michael Jordan, with all due respect is considered, you know, absolutely one of the greatest, if not the greatest basketball player of all time, but is kind of mentally ill,” Rogan said.

The UFC commentator was all complimentary about Jordan during the conversation. Despite his enthusiasm for MMA, this demonstrates his appreciation for other sports and athletes as well.
