Despite all these developments, the fans went into a frenzy as soon as the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter Season got announced. While the event will mark the return of ‘Notorious’, the NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal believes it will also kick start ‘showman’ McGregor’s juggernaut to the UFC title.

The 34-year-old who had a rough patch in recent years found a believer in Shaq. Notably, in a conversation with Inside Fighting, the 4x NBA champion expressed his faith in the Irish fighter. Further, he heaped praise on ‘Mystic Mac’ as he believes both were cut out from the same cloth. Additionally, the fan-favorite athlete predicted the Dublin-born to regain the UFC title.

On being quizzed about the exciting comeback of the UFC cash cow, the LA Lakers legend mentioned he expected a great show. In addition, the 50-year-old believed in the skills of the SBG Ireland team product.

Thus, he said, “I expect a great show. He’s always been a great showman. He’s always been a great competitor. Me and him have the similar type blood. When you doubt us that’s when we rise so.”

Following this, ‘The Big Aristotle’ pointed out the current shredded physique of the outspoken fighter after his recent injury layoff.

Hence, he remarked, “They doubted him. He went to the top, you know. Took a couple of bumps. Went away for a while. He trained. He’s looking real good.”

Similarly, the famed athlete-turned-TV personality gave his opinion on what fans could expect from his return to Octagon.

O’Neal further declared, “So I know, I know he gonna come back (inaudible). People like me and him, we love this.” Afterward, he addressed the possibility of McGregor finding himself at the top of the division. Thus, he declared without reservation, “[on Conor becoming champion] Of course, I know he will.”
