Kamaru Usman, Jake Paul, and Canelo Alvarez seem to be the latest hate triangle in the MMA-boxing world. Two of those individuals seem to want to fight Alvarez, who seems unbothered. Things between the welterweight champ and the YouTube star seem to be heating up a lot, with both going back and forth on Twitter. The latest chapter unfolded when Paul responded to Usman’s call out of Alvarez.

Jake Paul took to Twitter and wrote, “Kamaru Usman: “boxing is dying” Also Kamaru Usman: “pls Canelo fight me for a payday.“

This may have annoyed Usman, who replied in kind. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare‘ wrote, “You’re really good at this internet tough guy s**t I give you that. 2 questions for you… 1. You & Me locked in a room who makes it out alive? 2. Saul & I locked in a room who makes it out alive? I like your energy though.”

Usman took double shots with one Twitter post. It was a rather smart move to make on social media and the UFC welterweight champion seems to be following Conor McGregor’s blueprint of ‘any of these mouthy fools can get it‘ when it comes to callouts.

Attempting a rivalry with two or more potential opponents is a smart move to convert at least one of the big names into a fight. 

Who is Kamaru Usman more likely to fight? Paul or Canelo? 

The UFC pound-for-pound king is on track to make the big bucks no matter what. He is one of the biggest stars in the UFC, but the money boxing brings in is leaps apart. Therefore, with a steadfast mind, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ wants the best in the world, with Canelo Alvarez in his sights. 

Unfortunately, Alvarez doesn’t seem to be reciprocating the same energy that Usman has towards an idea of a boxing match. After all, being the one in a greater spotlight with more money, ultimately, he’d call the shots.
