After losing the United States Championship to L.A. Knight at SummerSlam, Logan Paul took time off from WWE programming, even hinting at his retirement from wrestling because of his recent fatherhood and desire to spend more time with his family. However, Paul has officially returned to the company as a new member of the RAW roster. But what made things interesting for UFC fans is that he has confirmed the rumors of a boxing fight with none other than Conor McGregor.

During the speech he made announcing his return, Logan Paul said that the WWE was his playground and that he was a bully who would be snatching titles away from fellow wrestlers. However, little did anyone expect him to drop Conor McGregor’s iconic line from 2014 when addressing the rise of Irish fighters in the UFC. Logan Paul said, “I’m not here to take part. I’m here to take over.” This is a definite reference to, “We’re not here to take part; we’re here to take over,” uttered by the Irishman.
After more than three years away from fighting, Conor McGregor could finally return with this exhibition boxing match against the 29-year-old YouTuber-turned-WWE wrestler in India. His tweet about getting into talks with the Ambanis to set up the match seemed like a joke to many, However, now it seems like it is something that is within the realm of reality. Especially after the hint dropped by Logan Paul.
But can we blame anyone for not believing the news in the first place? After all, Conor McGregor is known for pulling such stunts online. So it isn’t surprising to see many trying to debunk the major claim made by the former UFC double champion.

Often when McGregor writes sensational tweets, he is known for deleting them after a few hours. However, in this case, the Irishman has still kept the tweet live and running. This has led fans and pundits alike to finally weigh in on the fight and talk about the pros and cons of having such a massive exhibition fight against Logan Paul.
So during an interview on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith shared some optimism toward the exhibition bout by stating that it would be purely for entertainment purposes. So, with no wins or losses being recorded, the fighters would simply want to deliver an entertaining fight. He said, “I appreciate this fight because it’s pure entertainment—it’s an exhibition.”
Smith further added, “He’s (Logan Paul) getting into the ring as an entertainer. He’s with World Wrestling Entertainment, and we saw how athletic he was when he faced Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.” Well, it surely looks like Paul and McGregor have already won the trust of the boxing pundit.
