Ronda Rousey went through a terrible heartbreak when she lost the bout against Holly Holm at UFC 193. ‘Rowdy’ had already defended her position as the bantamweight champion 6 consecutive times before she faced ‘The Preacher’s Daughter.’ But little did she know that the loss would haunt her forever. Needless to say, Holm displayed impeccable skills as she sent the head kick in the second round and brought Rousey down. And now, after about a decade of heartbreak, it does seem like Holly Holm is trying to continue her legacy in boxing.
“Not a lot of people can do it successfully, but I can. I know I can, I know I can go back to boxing and still be a champion.” It has been 3 years already since Holm declared her stance regarding boxing. It was pretty clear that she missed boxing. She even opted to go back and forth with MMA and boxing. However, she decided to wait till UFC released her (in January 2025) before making her return to the boxing realm.
You read that right! We’ll get to see Holly Holm box again under the banner of MVP. She’s indeed going to share the card with Jake Paul as he’ll headline the event against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. And ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ is all set to face Yolanda Vega. In the past, between 2002 and 2013, Holm competed in 38 boxing bouts. She won 33 of them and lost just 2. 22 of these fights were title fights. No wonder she had so much confidence in her fists.

Fans remind Ronda Rousey of her bout against Holly Holm
Most of the fans revealed how tough it was to forget about UFC 193. It was a time when Rousey ruled the women’s bantamweight division. Of course, she was also the fan favorite in most of her bouts. But when Holly Holm sent her down with a kick to the head, the world of mixed martial arts got to know how strong ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ actually was. One of the fans recalled the moment and wrote, ““Rhonda’s in big trouble!! Oh she’s hurt!!” (Holm head kicks her).” Another fan commented, “@hollyholm good luck Holly. I still wanna kids that foot because it’s the reason Rhonda stopped bragging.”

Meanwhile, some of the fans claimed that Holm would likely get more money in boxing than she got in the UFC. One of the comments read, “Good for her, she’ll probably win more in 1 fight than in the UFC.” But one thing was certain. People had already decided that she was the champion. One fan claimed, “Can’t stay away from what makes you whole….let’s go Champ!!!!!!” Another fan added, “These days the lady fighters are more exciting to watch! They def bring it. cant wait to see Holly.. in the UFC she was 🔥.”
Women are indeed making quite some noise in the fighting realm. Earlier in February, Claressa Shields impressed the world by beating Danielle Perkins and becoming the first boxer to hold undisputed titles in 3 separate weight classes in the four-belt era. And how can we forget the bout between Jasmine Jasudavicius and Jessica Andrade? The Canadian ended the bout with a first-round submission win. Needless to say, the women in martial arts are up to give a tough competition.

However, as the calls rose in favor of Holm, some fans were also worried. One of the fans commented, “Holly don’t do this. You’ve got nothing to prove at this point. Don’t risk concussion or other injuries.” One more fan pointed out his concern as he highlighted that Holm was already 43 years old. The comment read, “Over 40 years old.” Nevertheless, the bout is set, and we will get to see her shine once again.
