Talking about the Mayweather-Ortiz fight, let’s take a look at how the event unfolded.

Back when Floyd Mayweather Sucker Punched Victor Ortiz

It was a wild night at the boxing match between Victor Ortiz and Floyd Mayweather, back in 2011. In the first few rounds, Ortiz showed off his agility and explosive striking skills. But even though he didn’t look like the weaker opponent, Mayweather’s world-class defense and movement helped him dodge most of Ortiz’s shots.

That is, until the fourth round, when Ortiz decided to headbutt Mayweather right in the face. This illegal move resulted in a cut inside Mayweather‘s mouth and a point deduction for Ortiz. But instead of feeling ashamed, Ortiz hugged Mayweather as soon as the fight resumed.

In a split second, Mayweather struck Ortiz with a left hook and right hand, dropping him to the canvas. Ortiz couldn’t get back up after the 10 count, and the fight was called off. Looks like embracing your opponent isn’t always a good idea in the boxing ring!
