Mark Coleman was the first UFC Heavyweight Champion. He was also inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame at UFC 82. He had a stellar career at the UFC. Coleman once said in a pre-fight interview with Joe Rogan that “I’m going to ground him and pound the goddamn shit out of him“. This statement gave us the name ‘ground and pound’.

Mark Coleman seems to have had huge respect for both Mike Tyson and Fedor Emelianenko. It reflected in the way he addressed the Heavyweights in the caption of his Instagram post.

Mark Coleman is 58 years old now. The veteran started his career with a flourish. He defeated UFC 8 champion, Don Frye, at UFC 10 in 1996. The next big moment came when he submitted to the UFC Superfight Champion Dan Severn. He was out of the UFC in 2008. He then returned to fight fellow UFC Hall of Fame fighter.

At UFC 109, after being outboxed on the feet, Coleman was taken down and defeated shortly after by Rear-Naked Choke at 1:09 in round 2. The bout marked the first time two UFC Hall of Fame inductees had fought. Who do you think is the real GOAT of the fighting game?
