If there’s one thing Conor McGregor has, it’s vision. And something fundamental that entails that vision is an eye for opportunity. ‘The Notorious’ has an eye for opportunity, whether it’s big money fights, using his brand to start whiskey and stout brands, or even recognizing the potential of a sport such as bare-knuckle fighting. And that vision has been extended to a certain upcoming English women’s flyweight fighter who’s been active as a professional since 2021.

In attendance at BKFC 71 were former Bellator star and current UFC middleweight Michael ‘Venom’ Page and rising PFL flyweight Dakota Ditcheva. After greeting his fellow veteran from the other side of the Atlantic, McGregor shared pleasantries with the rising English flyweight star Ditcheva.

As soon as Conor McGregor met ‘Dangerous’ Dakota Ditcheva, he immediately branded her as a superstar. He gave her a hug and said, “Great to see you, sweetheart. You’re the next big thing, baby. Strong women, good girl. F—– awesome. Great to see you. Great to finally meet you.” The duo exchanged a few more pleasantries, as Page and the others simply smiled. In the end, ‘The Notorious’ pointed at the PFL flyweight and said, “Superstar. 100%.”

Ditcheva is currently on a roll. She has fought 14 bouts in her professional MMA career and has won all of them. The fact that makes her worthy of her moniker, ‘Dangerous’, is that she has won 12 of these bouts via KO/TKO, and only one via a decision. And 10 of these were first-round knockouts. In her last bout, she faced Talia Santos and won the bout via body shots in the second round. It’s no wonder that Conor McGregor touted Dakota Ditcheva as the next big thing, hoping Dana White will notice her and eventually bring her over to the world’s premier MMA promotion.

There was once a time when the same could be said about ‘The Notorious’ Irishman. He was brash, confident, and full of promise. His rise was truly spectacular. But then, given his personality, he was bound to make a few enemies along the way. And this culminated in an incident where he was almost allegedly attacked at a recent BKFC event.

Conor McGregor almost allegedly attacked at BKFC 71

It would be wrong to say that ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor hasn’t made enemies, or at least riled a few people up. His rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov, which hasn’t simmered down to this day, has garnered him a lot of haters. And he’s quite unapologetic about it too. Remember when he spit in the face of a fan when the latter yelled Khabib’s at him? A man like McGregor is bound to make a lot of enemies given his personality and antics.

Do you also remember when Khamzat Chimaev flew all the way to Ireland to confront McGregor on the things he said to Khabib in the lead-up to their UFC 229 fight? Of course, that didn’t materialize since ‘Borz’ was detained at the airport before being flown back to Sweden. But that just shows the extent of people who want a crack at ‘The Notorious’.

So it wasn’t surprising when a fan tried to allegedly attack the Irishman in Dubai at BKFC 71. While signing autographs, a fan tried to rush the former UFC dual-weight champion, before being stopped by a security guard. What followed was two punches thrown by the security personnel, and the altercation happened off camera. The perpetrator was eventually removed from the premises. All McGregor did was try to get glimpse of the man who almost allegedly attacked him.
