In a recent installment of Amazon Prime Video Sport, a few Premier League managers were asked which player they’d like to have on their team. Interestingly, Everton boss Sean Dyche said, “Roy Keane. Because of his on-field presence, his demand for himself and all around him.” It seems the English manager is also an admirer of the former Manchester United icon.

Notably, both Dyche and Keane represented Nottingham Forest. Dyche had risen through the academy ranks in 1989 but left for Chesterfield within a year. On the other hand, Keane arrived from the Irish side Cobh Ramblers in the summer of 1990 and played for three years before moving to Old Trafford. West Ham United’s David Moyes said, “Too many to think of, because I’ve managed so many players, but possibly Wayne Rooney,” while Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson insisted on picking someone he worked closely with, and it was none other than Steven Gerrard. Additionally, Eddie Howe channeled his inner Newcastle United fanboy as he graciously took Alan Shearer’s name.
Meanwhile, Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and newly promoted Luton Town’s manager Rob Edwards all took Thierry Henry’s name. Frank heaped praise on the Arsenal legend by saying, “I think he’s one of the greatest goalscorers in the world and in the Premier League.” While Edwards said, “A player who had everything and could play in any position. I think he could have the most influence out of anyone to help us.”
Last but not least, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou took the name of Spurs icon Glenn Hoddle. He said, “Every time he was on the ball, something magical was about to happen.”
