The 3M Open may have concluded on Sunday, but it continues to draw attention thanks to World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and four-time PGA Tour winner Brian Harman. Harman flipped off the camera in the scorer’s hut Sunday—and Scottie Scheffler was right there, amused by the act. Despite the PGA Tour Code of Conduct rules, no penalties were reported. On X, Golfweek’s Cameron Jourdan shared a clip of the moment. 

“Brian Harman to the camera in scoring,” Jourdan wrote on X alongside the clip. “Scottie Scheffler got a chuckle out of that one 😂.”

The moment came as Harman and Scheffler, partnered for the final round of the $8.8 million 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities, were signing their scorecards in the recorder’s hut after their round. According to some, the duo was frustrated with the camera being trained on them as they signed their scorecards after a draining final round on Sunday. That’s when Harman flipped the bird and got a chuckle out of Scheffler.

The PGA Tour Code of Conduct prohibits obscene gestures and vulgar behavior on the course. Despite that, there aren’t any confirmed reports of Harman facing any consequences for the surprising move.

While Harman’s middle-finger gesture is unprecedented, he faced a two-stroke penalty in January 2026 for hitting the wrong ball. During the American Express tournament, Harman hit an amateur’s ball instead of his own on the 10th hole of the Stadium Course, violating Rule 6.3c(1). As a result, officials handed him a two-stroke penalty.

While Scheffler hasn’t made the rude gesture himself, this is not the first time he partnered with someone who flipped the bird during a tournament. During the 2026 Masters Tournament opening round, Robert MacIntyre directed a middle finger toward the 15th green after hitting multiple shots into the water. He carded a quadruple-bogey nine and was reprimanded for the gesture.

Coming back to the 3M Open, Scheffler finished second, 22-under overall, while Harman tied for third, carding 20-under overall. 21-year-old rookie Jackson Koivun won the tournament, collecting his first PGA Tour victory as a professional.

Scheffler is expected at the FedEx St. Jude Championship (August 13–16, 2026, Memphis). Meanwhile, Harman doesn’t want to skip any events and is expected to compete at the Wyndham Championship (August 6-9, 2026, North Carolina).
