The last few years of Formula One had not seen much of a battle for the title and that drew a lot of flak from the fans. But in the 2017 season, it seems to be a straight fight between Mercedes and Ferrari. Formula One’s racing director Ross Brawn has attributed a lot of the effort to Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. Brawn has said that Vettel’s driving is bringing F1 back to the spotlight.

“What Sebastian is doing in the red car is great advertising for Formula 1,” he said. “Most fans want to see a successful Ferrari team, and Sebastian is the key to it.” Even Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko is in agreement and he said “Mercedes is driving more on the limit, while Sebastian is apparently comfortably on the podium always. The Ferrari is more consistent,” Vettel and Hamilton slugging it out for the 2017 title can be good for Formula One as it finally breaks the monotony of one manufacturer dominating the proceedings.
