Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade is ready to turn heads when he meets John “Hands of Stone” Lineker in their rematch for the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title. After their controversial clash in October last year, the pair will cross paths again in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 25. 

Andrade had the upper hand throughout the first meeting at ONE on Prime Video 3, where he put on one of his best performances to date, preventing Lineker from piecing together any significant game plan.

“Hands of Stone,” who had been stripped of the bantamweight crown in the leadup for missing weight, was left with a swollen right eye early in the second round, and Andrade moved in for the kill in the third. After landing further jabs and straight lefts on his 32-year-old rival, “Wonder Boy” connected with a devastating knee to the ribs.

It looked as if Lineker was all but finished. Unfortunately, the strike that followed landed low on “Hands of Stone,” leaving him unable to continue. Thus, the referee was forced to to call the fight as a no-contest.

Despite the outcome, or perhaps because of it, Andrade is more fired up than he ever has been for the much-anticipated rematch. The top-ranked bantamweight recently took to Instagram to give fans and glimpse into what they should expect on February 25.

Andrade already saw himself as the champion and eyed a title defense this time

“In my previous fight, you saw a hungry fighter that wants to be the champion, this fight you gonna see the champion defending his throne!” Andrade posted.

It is far from surprising that the undefeated upstart has declared himself king of the division. After all, he’s been making those claims since before Lineker grabbed the throne from longtime titleholder Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes last year.

Andrade earned his shot at “Hands of Stone” after stringing together four consecutive first-round wins inside the Circle. And after his dominant showing in their first meeting, he’s more convinced than ever that he deserves to wear the World Title around his waist. 

Whether or not that comes to fruition on February 25 remains to be seen. But one thing is certain – Lineker vs. Andrade II will be an unmissable bout when it goes down at ONE Fight Night 7.
