

Superlek Kiatmoo9 is geared up to continue his legacy in ONE Championship’s all-striking division. The reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion will showcase his skills again at ONE 168: Denver on U.S. primetime on Friday, September 6 in Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. The 28-year-old was born in the ideal countryside in the Prakhon Chai district of Buriram province. His parents worked in Bangkok, so he was raised by his grandparents. There, he was taken to the revered Kiatmoo9 Gym by his grandfather when he was only eight. This is how the youngster found the passion that would make him legendary.

He has come a long way and his dream is to open his facility and gym. ‘The Kicking Machine’ recently revealed the construction of his second home, which is a new gym based in the Bang Kruai district of Thailand. While it is still far from being completed, the Thai star has already started using it as his new training battleground and has even taken some young students under his mentorship. All about Superlek Kiatmoo9’s gym
He has spoken about his gym extensively in interviews and in one of the talks with Andrew Whitelaw, the champ discussed his new gym. According to his translator, he said that the gym was located in Bang Kruai at Nonthaburi outside of Bangkok. While it’s still not finished, he has already opened his doors to kids. He said, “I trained with the kids that we used to train together before. These kids don’t have the permanent location to train, so I was aiming to just have this location good enough for them to train and for me to train as well. So there is still a lot of work to work on in the gym.”

The megastar is preparing for a fight with Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168 and is training in his new gym for that. The main aim he had of creating the gym was to train fighters from the younger generation and help them develop a high-caliber fighting skills.

One championship’s official page had uploaded an Instagram post where he extensively spoke about his goals for the gym. He said, “The reason I built this gym was because of the kids. The kids in the neighborhood had no place to train, so I decided to open a gym to give the kids a place to train. It’s also my dream to bring these fighters to compete at Lumpinee.”

He also mentioned that since he owns the gym, the training is easier because he practically lives there and can practice whenever he wants to.

Why did he open the new gym?
The megastar spoke about his gym extensively with Nick Atkin and revealed his desire to have all-time access to training. That was one of the main reasons other than teaching children that he opened his gym. Even though Superlek is thankful for his home gym, he believes that it’s time to venture out for better possibilities.
He said, “Before, I trained at another Muay Thai academy, and you know it just wasn’t my gym. It’s hard to follow the schedule and stuff.” Superlek is going to challenge Jonathan Haggerty for the bantamweight Muay Thai belt on 6th September at Ball Arena.
