Reinier de Ridder put on a clinic in his ONE middleweight world championship defense against Kiamrian Abbasov. The champion showed dominance from the get-go and finished the fight in the third round via head and arm choke. However, the highlight of the night was his callout of the Brazilian Jiujitsu legend in the post-fight interview.

Ridder didn’t ask for an MMA bout, and that shows his confidence in his grappling abilities. “I’ll choke you out,” said Ridder to conclude his callout.

Soon after, Andre Galvao posted the video of the callout and accepted it. He wrote, “Hey @onechampionship let’s make it happen!!! I’m ready!”
The “Dutch Knight” is undefeated in the ONE Circle and has dominated the middleweight and light heavyweight division. Currently, the 15-0 fighter is one of the ONE’s greatest pound-for-pound fighters. Whereas, Galvao, the renowned jujitsu world champion, is yet to make his ONE Championship debut.

The exhibition grappling bout will take place at the ONE:X event on March 26, on the 10th anniversary of this global MMA promotion.

Reinier de Ridder had a message for Vitaly Bigdash
After the emphatic performance at ONE: Full Circle, Ridder had a message for another fighter who got the win on the same night. Vitaly Bigdash won the trilogy fight against Aung La N Sang and closed the trilogy 2-1 in his favor. With the win over former ONE middleweight world champion N Sang, Bigdash would’ve hoped for the title fight.
However, the champion was not happy with Bigdash’s performance outside the ONE Circle. Earlier, Bigdash missed weight for his bout against N Sang.
