Danial Williams expects no surprises from Jeremy Miado
“Mini T,” however, feels like he has the edge. The #5-ranked Strawweight contender thinks Miado is predictable with his striking and believes that’s something he could use to his advantage.
“At the end of the day, he’s pretty straightforward with his striking. Nothing might surprise me. He comes in hard, shoots in with the one-twos, three-fours, but I think my style will be more superior than his,” the Australian said.
“Trying not to sound cocky, but I firmly believe in this. For example, Miado versus Lito [Adiwang], you could see how he just hopped in, charged in, and threw combos for days. I think it’s a style that can be exploited with my style.”
As confident as he is, Williams has a great deal of respect for his opponent. After all, “The Jaguar” earned knockouts in each of his last three fights, showcasing a serious killer instinct.
But Williams, a WMC Muay Thai World Champion, believes his own striking is on an entirely different level.
Williams gives due credit to Miado’s striking skills
“I love Jeremy Miado as a fighter,” the Aussie said.
“He’s exciting to watch, he’s got some good wins behind him against some really notable opponents. So, I’m not taking him lightly at all. He’s a good challenge. But I believe my power, speed, angles, and mobility will be my advantages against him.”
The Australian is one of the fastest athletes in a division known for slick footwork and speedy striking. It’s that speed and movement Williams has used to score sensational knockouts in all but one of his professional MMA victories.
On Friday, he plans to lean on his footwork and unpredictability to secure another highlight-reel finish at ONE on Prime Video 3.
“I just feel that I’m going to be a little bit difficult for him because he’s never really fought a striker who can move like me,” he added.
“And I feel he’s a bit linear, straight-lined, and can be predictable with his shots. That’ll be his weakness that I want to exploit with my movement.”
