“Who would have thought the name Tee Tee Terry would one day echo across the world?” said Olympic gold medalist Twanisha ‘Tee Tee’ Terry as she reflected on her remarkable journey to stardom. Her back-to-back 4x100m relay victories at the World Championships (2022, 2023, 2025) solidified her legacy as one of Team USA’s finest sprinters. But her influence stretches far beyond her time on the track, as she has embraced another role, that of an author, capturing hearts as powerfully as she does through speed.

Needless to say, Twanisha ‘TeeTee’ Terry is fast becoming a fan favorite among the younger generation. Just months after her book debut, the Olympic sprinter is already making waves, this time as a featured guest speaker at Ten Oaks Elementary in South Carolina – where she interacted with first and second grade students and shared her children’s book, TeeTee’s World Adventure.

Taking to Instagram, Terry wrote, “I’m truly honored to have been the very first guest speaker at Ten Oaks Elementary! I went in expecting to read to just one class, but to my surprise, I ended up reading to all the first and second graders. And y’all know TeeTee loves the kids, so it was no pressure for your girl!”  From the series of photographs, it’s clear that the kids were completely captivated, interacting with the athlete, hugging her, and eagerly asking questions.

Expressing her elation, the sprinter further penned, “The little ones were locked in, asked such thoughtful questions, and I made it a point to leave an impact, sending each student off with either a high five or a hug.”  This may have been her first fan meetup, but it’s certainly not the last. In fact, the athlete recently inspired young kids in Myrtle Beach during a track clinic.

Twanisha Terry inspires young sprinters

On October 4th, Olympic gold medalists and World Champions Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Twanisha “TeeTee” Terry, and T’Mars “TJ” Macallum brought energy and inspiration to over 100 young athletes at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach. The trio led an engaging track clinic where they taught the young athletes about the fundamentals of sprinting and hurdling, while also encouraging them to chase their own golden dreams.

Last year, Terry also met a group of students in an after-school program on Miami Beach, where she was showered with support and cheers from her young fans at a South Beach track. “It feels amazing coming out here and being able to talk to the kids because starting at 9 years old is what got me this far,” Terry said. “I’m the one on the track running the competitions but their support means a lot to me. ”  In fact, the Miami Beach commission declared Nov. 13, 2024, as Twanisha “TeeTee” Terry Day.
