Now we all know just what a sensational form Quincy Wilson has been in. After all, he just won the New Balance National Indoors in the 400m a few weeks ago with a blistering run. But being the sensation he was, he wasn’t just done yet. In fact, just last month, the Maryland native was honored by the governor of his state, Wes Moore. But while fans were just taking their time soaking in this glory, the youngster once again surprised us with yet another honor. So what did he win this time? And what did Wilson have to say?

Well, in a recent update shared by Bullis Athletics, Wilson was adjudged the Winter 2025 Boys’ Varsity Track and Field MVP. This was indeed a testament to the fact of how much of an impact he had on his school team. Surely, a look at his glittering accolades will reveal his dominance in recent times. Quincy Wilson holds the 400m and 500m category world records in the U18 realm.

Competing in high school, Wilson has been unbeaten in the 400m category and also holds the record timing for the same. But while he failed to break the record he was chasing after, courtesy of Andrew Salvodon, in the end he won the New Balance GP. That, with the now MVP award, has left the 17-year-old elated. Taking to his Instagram story, Wilson shared a 4-word message. It read, “All Glory To God!” Surely, Wilson would want to continue his good work further.

Meanwhile, with repeated setbacks, Wilson has been criticized significantly by the fans. However, track legends like Justin Gatlin have lent their hand of support. Speaking on Wilson’s losses early in 2025, Gatlin shrugged it off as a normal occurrence. He immediately pointed out that even the best of the sprinters have an off day occasionally.

However, Gatlin stated that what Wilson needs to worry about is balancing his elite and high school career all at once. And it is quite evident that Wilson is having significant problems in doing so. That is why the Olympic gold winner also got defeated by Tywan Cox.

Olympic champ Quincy Wilson stunned by football star’s blazing relay finish

Tywan Cox isn’t just a football player anymore—he’s the high school sprinter who just took down an Olympic champion. At the Pepsi Florida Relays, the Miami Northwestern defensive back and Illinois football commit dropped jaws with a jaw-dropping 45.14 anchor split in the boys 4x400m relay, overtaking none other than Olympic 4x400m gold medalist Quincy Wilson in a dramatic final-leg showdown.

Cox’s final lap—nearly three seconds faster than his prelim split—helped propel Miami Northwestern to a 3:08.74 finish. He edged past Wilson’s Bullis School squad, who clocked 3:09.97. The win not only shattered expectations but also overtook Bullis’s recent world U20-leading mark. Quincy, who had beaten Cox in the open 400m just a day earlier with a 45.27 to Cox’s 46.29, led for much of the final leg before Cox surged in the final stretch to snatch the win.

Footage shows Cox receiving the baton ahead but taking a wide turn, briefly letting Wilson pass before tailing him, only to unleash his kick down the homestretch. The move sparked plenty of online chatter, with fans calling the move “tactical” and “ballsy.” But the result was clear. A football player just stunned the track world with one unforgettable lap. Will this lead to a future altercation? Only time will tell.
