When Noah Lyles first landed in Tokyo for the World Championship, he had one wish. The track and field athlete tweeted, “Made it Tokyo! Who tryna go do some karaoke.” And if you were wondering, his love for karaoke is not new. Back in October 2024, he was seen in a playful “Hurricane Karaoke Session” with his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, while spending time together in Florida. But this time around, he had different plans.

Lyles clocked 9.95s to win his heat in the World Championship, beating Ackeem Blake, who ran 10.07s, and Terrence Jones with 10.16s. In the mixed zone, he was asked, “Have you managed to do the karaoke?” Spoiler Alert: He could not. Lyles answered, “No, I haven’t found time. I’ve been shopping. I even found Janelle this, like special Dior Jamaican bag in one of the secondhand stores.” The bag in question could be one from Dior’s Rasta Collection by John Galliano (around 2004), which features bags with has colors from Jamaican Rastafarian culture.

But whatever the bag was, Junelle Bromfield was happy. She uploaded a story on her Instagram where a mouse could be seen sleeping very comfortably ensconced in a fluffy blue blanket. The reel’s header read, “How I sleep at night knowing I’m completely satisfied with my man because he’s simply the best.” Seems like Noah Lyles is not just a good athlete but an even better fiancé.

Back to the interview, Lyles continued, “Gosh, I’ve gotten so many anime things. But yeah, karaoke is just the thing that takes the most time, but I’d say I’ve definitely been out in the in the Tokyo streets.” His love for anime is no longer hidden from the world, especially after he did the Kame-Hame-Ha after winning the gold in the Paris Olympics. In fact, he got a gift as well.

The gift was a framed artwork, drawn in a bold, manga-inspired style, that was given to him by a Japanese TV crew. Lyles posted it on his story, and in it, we could see a muscular Lyles tearing a red strap across his chest. There were gold and red accents and a signature in English that says “Noah Lyles.” The Japanese text read “ノア・ライルズ,” which translates to Noa Rairuzu, which is simply the Japanese katakana spelling of Noah Lyles.

The drawing was a gift from Keisuke Itagaki, the creator of the manga Baki, of which Lyles is a fan. “This is pretty freaking cool,” said Lyles, grinning ear to ear. “They said it’s a one of one. It’s definitely going in my trophy case. This is a huge highlight for me.” Well, both Lyles and his partner got a gift, a win-win situation. Though this was not the first time Noah had gifted Bromfield a luxury.

When Noah Lyles gifted Junelle Bromfield a car and a house

Paper work took so long my excitement ran out. Thank you baby,” read the caption of a video posted on Junelle Bromfield’s Instagram account. In the video was the unveiling of a 2022 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige. The Genesis GV70 is a midsize SUV that blends style with performance. It’s powered by a 2.5-liter turbo gasoline engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the luxurious Nappa leather front seats can be adjusted in 18 different ways, one of the SUV’s standout premium features. It was worth $45,000, and the caption hinted at Lyles being the one to gift it.

But one of the better gifts is the engagement. Back in October 2024, he orchestrated a romantic setting adorned with pink flower petals, candles, and a neon sign reading “Will you marry me?” The moment was captured in a video shared across his social media platforms, where Lyles is seen on one knee, and Bromfield joyfully accepts, flashing her engagement ring. But that was not it.

After their engagement, Bromfield revealed that Lyles surprised her with a luxurious house where they plan to live together as a married couple. Sharing the moment on Instagram, she wrote, “I’m usually hard to surprise but he got me this time,”.  On International Women’s Day 2025, Noah took Bromfield on a lavish shopping spree at some of the world’s most exclusive stores.

Joined by fellow sprinter Talitha Diggs, the couple browsed Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Dior. Bromfield picked out a beaded Chanel necklace, and despite its hefty price, Lyles happily bought it and placed it around her neck himself, making the moment extra special. Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield have also announced that they are planning to marry in spring 2026.
