There’s this unique chemistry between the self-proclaimed Fastest Man on the Planet and his girl that tugs at the heartstrings. But when it comes to his fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, it’s like we can’t even recognize the man. From gifting her extravagant and boujee coats to supporting her through fan turmoil, Lyles always got her back. And now the Jamaican is taking her time to let the fans know just how special Lyles is to him. So what did she say?

Well, this all started when Lyles casually stated that he knew news about the Jamaican camp courtesy of Bromfield. This led to Bromfield getting attacked with scathing comments online. And what’s more? She was even given death threats. To the point that Bromfield was fearful to even step back into Jamaica. But coming as a warm blanket was Lyles. He invited Bromfield to his family and also made her visit his childhood village. And if these were not enough, the duo recently delved deep into some more stories of them supporting each other.

In a recent video uploaded by The Knot on YouTube, Bromfield and Lyles could be seen cozying up to each other. Narrating tales of love, the duo looked like quite the perfect match. Recalling when Bromfield donned the role of being Noah’s guardian, the Olympic 100m gold medalist stated how she attended to him when he was sick.

“One of the nicest things you’ve ever done for me was take care of me when I was sick. I couldn’t even get out of bed, and everybody was fighting around me, and you were telling them, you know, bringing order to everybody,” said Lyles. Now, if this was what Lyles shared as his feel-good moment, Bromfield, too, chimed in with her take. “So I was in Jamaica; I wasn’t making any national teams or anything. So it was nice to have somebody who’s at the top of their game telling you that you can also do it too, whatever you’re going through,” she said.

This was an anecdote about when Bromfield was lacking in her track and field game. At the time, it was Lyles who instilled self-belief within her and made her take part in the qualifiers. And quite rightly so, Junelle Bromfield did make the Olympic team! Surprisingly, while they are quite an inseparable couple now, initially, they allegedly did not ‘click.’

When Junelle Bromfield flew into Miami back in 2018 to meet Noah Lyles for their first date, she likely didn’t expect that dinner would one day blossom into love. But as the Jamaican track star now admits, there was zero chemistry when they first met. “We went on a [first] date and it was like, ‘Nah, let’s just be friends,’” Junelle recalled in a resurfaced clip from the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast, painting a candid picture of a night that felt more awkward than romantic.

Bromfield explained she was nervous, needing time to feel comfortable before opening up. “I talk a lot, but I have to be comfortable before I start talking, and it was just one day,” she said. The nerves were clear to Lyles, who remembered a quiet car ride from the airport. Noah quipped, “A little? I got, like, whispers.”

Despite pulling out all the stops — including a dinner at Red Lobster and a first taste of cheddar bay biscuits — the spark just wasn’t there. The pair amicably agreed to remain friends. But fate had other plans. Years later, during a casual night out at the Running Grand, something changed. The connection that was missing in Miami finally came to life — and hasn’t faded since.
