Gabby Thomas let her candid side take over as she took to X on May 16 and claimed to know the mastermind behind the famous track and field fan account, Track Spiece. She wrote, “After doing a little OSINT…I’m pretty sure I know who’s behind the Track Spice account.” What next? The account responded back with a tweet. This banter went on for another round of comments…..And then, an unexpected twist.

Gabby Thomas then kept building the hype as she kept dropping more and more angles, leading to further speculation. In one of the posts, she said, “I’ll see one of you in Philly and wink.” Now this stirred the possibility that it may be a track and field athlete or someone closely related to the track world. Because this certain someone is coming to the Grand Slam Track’s next leg by the looks of it.

However, despite fans now being on a name hunt, pushing her to confess a name, Gabby maintained, “I have some good evidence but I’m gonna find some concrete proof before I post anything  just remember whenever you post anything on the internet, it lives forever even if you delete it kids.” This came in after Track Spiece’s responses to these tweets from Gabby started showing up as deleted. But that’s not where the story ends.

Soon, in the most unexpected move, Track Spiece ended up disabling their X account. Yes, they did! This only added to the narrative that Gabby Thomas might be correct in her guess. But it sure left many wondering as to who the possible athlete or sports entity was behind that account. Fred Kerley was drawn into this banter as he responded to Thomas’ claim with, “Who was it.” Not just him, another 2x Olympic medalist, Vernon Norwood, commented saying, “You got me [smiling emojis].”
