Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce might be getting ready to close the curtain on her legendary career in 2025, but who says she’s slowing down? The Jamaican sprint icon might be planning her exit after the Tokyo World Championships, but she just can’t stop turning heads wherever she goes! At 38, the “Pocket Rocket” still commands attention at every meet she graces with that signature fluorescent hair and explosive start. Five world titles in the 100m? Check. Olympic gold medals? Got those too. What’s even more impressive? She might be causing technical failure for timekeepers with those blistering finishes that had fans going gaga!

Well, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was on mom duty this time, and it was her son Zyon’s sports day on April 16, and the Jamaican was part of the special moms’ races. The Jamaican legend, wearing a blue t-shirt with number 7 and “Zyon” written on it, paired with black trousers, made sure her son knew exactly who his mama has been all these years! She left the field ablaze.

Honestly, fans knew the result beforehand. But it wasn’t just the competing mothers who had difficulty keeping up with the sprint queen; the drone filming the event struggled too!

The “Mommy Rocket” (yes, that’s another nickname she’s earned!) almost ran past the drone’s radar in the final stretch of the race. The poor machine barely kept her in frame as she was breathing fire down the track, nearly leaving the recording device in the dust!

The video of this maternal sprint sensation quickly went viral, and comments flooded over as Mommy Rocket was in overdrive. But, what did they have to say?

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce outran a drone at a mom's race—can anyone keep up with her?

Have an interesting take?

Honestly, what did we expect when an eight-time Olympic medallist lines up at a mom’s race? But still, “She outran the drone!” one fan screamed online, and no exaggeration there. The poor drone filming the race? It tried. It did. But by the final stretches she was nearly out of sight., Shelly-Ann was flying so fast that the camera could barely keep her in the frame. Hello? This is the same woman who clocked 10.60 seconds in 2021, the third-fastest ever.

“That’s my Mommy Rocket Queen!” another fan posted, and honestly, facts only. The woman came back after childbirth and in the first world championship after conceiving, she won the 100m at the 2019 World Championships in Doha. At 32! Who else does that?

And the footage? It’s internet gold. You can see Shelly-Ann in a blue shirt with “Zyon” printed on it, her son’s name. She wasn’t just running but  was blazing. Which led one fan to go, Drone was confused as to where to concentrate 😂.” Yes, the drone was trying to follow the group. But then boom, Shelly-Ann hit the gas, and the drone? Completely blindsided.

Then comes another gem: “Low key wish she had given them a head start lol. Her coming up from behind to burn them would’ve been so funny.”

And finally, the most relatable take of all: 😂😂😂😂😂😂 That’s how I play Fantasy Football when I join a new league … but eventually they catch up 😂.”  Except, no one’s catching Shelly-Ann. Not on the track. Not even with a drone. Done? Not yet. Mommy Rocket’s still got fire.
