Who knew a beam routine could ripple all the way to the hardwood at Madison Square Garden? Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee has developed an uncanny connection with the New York Knicks, and we are starting to believe she’s bringing more than just star power to the court. Last time she attended a Knicks game? They took down the Orlando Magic on December 3, 2024, snapping a six-game win streak with clinical flair. Lee, glowing courtside, thanked the Knicks on Instagram—“Thank you @nyknicks for having me”—while social media melted in real time. Mikal Bridges dropped 19, OG Anunoby added 16, and suddenly, the Knicks had fire in their step.

Coincidence? Maybe. But hold on, because Suni was back in the building. Her latest visit to MSG came with flair, flashbulbs, and a whole lot of fanfare… And it may have sparked another memorable night for New York and may have flipped a switch in one NBA star’s fortune!

The Olympic gold medalist showed up courtside for the New York Knicks vs. Phoenix Suns game on April 6, and honestly? She looked every bit the star she is. She wore an oversized dark blue blazer layered over a clean white top, with a printed blue button-down shirt peeking out beneath. It was that perfect blend of cool and effortless, finished off with a short black skirt and a structured beige-and-brown handbag resting neatly on her lap. And then, there was that necklace. Delicate, silver, and unmistakably shaped like the Olympic rings. A quiet flex, but a powerful one.

In one moment, she’s sitting comfortably, smiling softly, soaking in the arena energy. Another has her eyes drawn toward the court, focused, curious, like she’s mid-thought. And then there’s that brighter smile, the kind that says, “Yeah, this is fun.” She shared those pictures on X with her caption simple: “Me at a @nyknicks game.” That was all she needed to say! But here’s where things get fun.

Not long after Lee took her courtside seat, OG Anunoby put on an absolute show, dropping 32 points, grabbing six rebounds, and helping the Knicks to a dominant 112–98 win over the Suns. Anunoby lit the fuse, dropping 19 of his 32 points in a perfect third quarter. He went 7-for-7 from the field, including 5-of-5 from beyond the arc. No misses. Just momentum.

Anunoby has now scored 20+ points in 10 straight games, something he’s never done before. But this one felt different, and fans can’t seem to credit Suni Lee for it.

Is Suni Lee the Knicks' secret weapon, or just a lucky charm courtside?

Fans credit Suni Lee for Anunoby’s scorching show at MSG

There’s good basketball… and then there’s OG Anunoby in the third quarter on Sunday night.

OG Anunoby literally couldn’t miss it. Literally. Seven for seven in the third quarter, five triples, and a total of 32 points on the night. But while the Knicks were taking care of business against the Suns at Madison Square Garden, fans online were crediting someone else for the spark, Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, who was courtside.

It started with a photo dump. Suni posted Carousel pictures, which we mentioned earlier, but the comments that followed were pure comedy and appreciation from the Knicks faithful. One fan on X summed it up perfectly: “Attend some Knicks playoff home games, I need more of this current OG Anunoby.” The message? Whatever magic was in the air, New York wants more of it, especially in the postseason.

Another fan took it a step further, making a bold, meme-worthy claim: “You had OG looking like Demon 😤.” That third quarter certainly did feel otherworldly. It wasn’t just about efficiency; it was dominance.

Then came the layered takes, with fans connecting the dots in the most internet way possible. “You caused some people to perform better than they have been. I understand it though,” another user wrote, implying Lee’s presence may have actually elevated the Knicks’ performance. That sentiment gained traction fast. One fan even lobbied for front office intervention: “They should give you free tickets to every Knicks home game in the playoffs 😂.”

And just when you thought the jokes were over, someone made it clear this wasn’t a one-night thing: “Your presence is required during the playoffs.” Whether it’s coincidence, superstition, or just fans having fun, one thing’s clear: Anunoby was electric, and Suni Lee’s courtside cameo became part of the legend. MSG saw a show!
