Put Jesolo and gymnastics in one sentence, and you know what’s coming. The Jesolo Trophy 2025 just wrapped up in Italy on April 13. The US Women’s team ended up with 17 medals across the junior and senior divisions. But the gold in the senior category was snagged by The Azzurre as Manila Esposito got the honor. Meanwhile, the USA had to settle with the silver and the bronze. Now, the interesting fact is that one of Simone Biles’ teammates was also part of this. But who is she? And what did the GOAT have to say about this?

Well, the name of the winning lady is Dulcy Caylor. After her win, she took to Instagram on April 16 to celebrate her Jesolo Trophy performance. “Jesolo Trophy 2025!🎭 So grateful for the opportunity to represent Team USA! ❤️🤍💙 Excited for what’s next! #teamusa #jesolo2025 @usagym @trofeocittadijesolo @nike,” she captioned. She posted her pictures in various USA gymnastics team leotards.

Now, Simone Biles, ever the team player, quickly took notice of her teammate’s victory. She posted Dulcy’s post in her story on April 18 and wrote, “Congrats @dulcycaylor. So proud of you!!! way to represent Team USA in Italy. In the 2024 Jesolo Trophy, she was a part of the 3rd-Team and was 6th on uneven bars, 7th all-around, and 8th on Balance Beam.

This year, she bettered it with 6th in all-around as a member of the 2nd team. With an all-around of 53.000 and a high of 13.950 on the Vault, she truly impressed. But the bond between Biles and Dulcy goes a long way. After all, back in 2023, when Simone was having her bridal shower as she was preparing for her marriage with Jonathan Owens, Caylor was one of the few gymnasts invited.

Who were the other three? Well, none other than Zoe Miller, Tiana Sumanasekera, and Joscelyn Roberson. This relationship is not new either; it goes way back to their training days. That is why Biles also mentioned in her story, “love you & go WCC!!!” There is a very close relationship between these three words—Simone Biles, Dulcy Caylor, and the WCC, i.e., World Champions Center. What’s that?

Simone Biles and Dulcy Caylor’s WCC days

Dulcy, originally from North Carolina, moved to Texas in 2017 to pursue elite gymnastics training. What did Texas have? The World Champions Centre – a gymnastics training facility owned by Simone Biles’ adoptive parents, Ronald Biles and Nellie Cayetano Biles. Other than Biles, she had the opportunity to train with the likes of other top gymnasts like Jordan Chiles and Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos.

Biles has also been a role model to Caylor. She has said in the past, “I know I will never be on Simone’s level, but I don’t want to seem like I am so far behind.” And of course, since she was at WCC, she was trained under the legendary gymnastics coaching duo, Cecile Canqueteau and Laurent Landi .
