April 20, 2024 – the day LSU won its first NCAA gymnastics title. Many would have thought that this would have been the last of Olivia Dunne as this was her graduation year, but the gymnast was ‘not dunne yet.’ That was the caption of her Instagram post where she announced that she was coming back to LSU. How? She had to COVID year in the banks, and she cashed it in. But now, as the LSU is looking to defend its title, it will be Dunne’s last. So, she bid goodbye to LSU. And that, too, in her own style!

The social media sensation with over 5 million followers on Instagram, Dunne, took to the platform to say her goodbye to the LSU gym. She made a reel with her batch mate, Haleigh Bryant, on the trend that uses Scott Street by Phoebe Bridgers. It starts with Dunne mouthing the words, “Bye I will see you at practice tomorrow.” The camera cuts to Bryant, where she mouths the words, “Liv this is our last practice ever.”

The scene then continues to the two of them hugging it out and then walking off funny. Olivia Dunne donned the black shorts, and so did Bryant. The only difference in their attire was that the former wore an LSU tank top while Bryant had an LSU sweatshirt on. “how can this be our last practice🥲,” captioned the LSU gymnast.

Haleigh Bryant, who is also a graduate student and enjoying her last season with the Tigers, commented, “Been a good 5 years 🥹🥹.” While Olivia Dunne’s final season was soured by her injury, Bryant did her best. She did have a UCL strain in her elbow, sustained during the preseason, but she came back. Her score in this season has earned her three more All-American honors in vault, beam, and the floors. Haleigh Bryant has also gained two first team honors—on vault (9.925) and floor (9.945). But for Livvy, leaving LSU isn’t just about saying goodbye to the mats but also leaving behind her friend.

Haleigh Bryant and Olivia Dunne seem to be two peas in a pod. Want some evidence? Last month, Livvy wasn’t able to perform in her Senior Night due to injury, but she made sure to be present for her team and especially her best friend. She dropped a series of stories while donning her LSU leos, but what caught our eyes was her picture with Bryant. And the caption, well, it read “🐐 4ever.” Also, Bryant shared a story with Livvy, and the caption read,  “till the end❤️🤞.” Well, we don’t need any proof now!

Now, as LUS prepares to defend its title, Livvy may not perform due to her knee injury, but the team still looks all prepared to put up a tough fight!

The LSU tiger entered the 2025 season with the momentum of winning the 2025 season. They stormed through the regular season with a 12-2 overall record and an 8-1 SEC mark. On March 22, the Tigers went on to win the 2025 SEC Championship in New Orleans, scoring 198.200, securing their sixth SEC title, and clinching the No. 1 overall seed heading into NCAA Regionals.

At the NCAA Fayetteville Regional Final on April 7, LSU posted a 197.850 to win the meet and advance to Nationals – Haleigh Bryant delivered 9.95s on both vault and floor, and Aleah Finnegan scored a 9.975 on beam. Now with the Nationals set for April 17 and 19 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, LSU heads into the championship meet looking to make history again.
